How anybody can suggest EMMA is arrogant or chilly at the net when losing is beyond me. She comes across as a most humble, most polite, most respectful well mannered person !!

thats exactly it - she just comes across that, but if you look closely, shes not. A lot of people sniff it out.

You gain a lot more experiance from loosing than from winning.! Any up and coming young tennis player needs all kind of experiances to slowly build up their amour of skills to apply when required in different match situations.! Although the game plan in this match was clearly lacking from Emmas team their were valuable lessons to be learnt in this loss. I think her level of play will improve even further with her next matches. The talent is clearly there and it just needs nurturing.!

I am just wondering, wouldnt a professional player auto-adjust their play according to the conditions? The wind is a challenge, but I am sure Daria wouldnt have trained for such scenarios, not for this tournament at least - even if she did and Raducanu didnt, its still a negative for Raducanu. Even if Daria had experienced such conditions in the past, its not something that she would experience very often. Dont like the suggestion that she lost bcos Daria handled the conditions better as she's used to it. I think Raducanu just failed in general - failed in a way that she refused to adjust her play to the situation and in her mind "Its ok if I lose, bcos the conditions are not made for me"

daria usually play like that no matter the conditions so it suited her by default

Still with the excuses lets face it just not as good . Same conditions for each player . Tennis is half outside lets not pretend wind is a rare occurrence

The comment is a bit unfair. Almost all professional players start competing full time at the age of 15. But Raducanu started at 18 1/2 after finishing high school education. This, plus her long injury lay-offs, means her court experience is limited. How could one say she and her opponent were affected to the same extent by the court condition? Kasatkina is so experienced. Raducanu was honest and wasn't making up an excuse.

@@Innerlight320 but again you miss the point, daria style is not affected by weather, it the same when the roof comes on in a grand slam, certain game styles suit indoors it just facts

@@TonyNg-bd3yw I think that excuse has been played out enough, either she's cheap-ing out by not hiring a proper coach or she's just not talented enough. I heard that the reason she runs through many coaches is bcos she thinks she has more tennis IQ than them, which is also echoed by her father. Also, not to mention the aspect them trying to pay as little as possible to coaches and even to hitting partners.

Radu has to play a more intelligent game in order to beat good players

Pegula's a much better player than Kasatkina and Emma beat her the day before. Beating good players isn't the issue, she just needs to build a lot more experience to handle all conditions.

@@MrPicklerwoof i disagree, its just daria can get overpowered by players in form , but in general, pegula is not great in any one aspect apart from consistency

Round 3 at Wimbles absolute max. Not deserving of her wild card at all. Be better off now going full time Influencer, she just doesn't have the tennis interest anymore and she knows it.
