Right? Lol. When he was 18 or so my Dad battled Em unofficially (they worked at the same time). He told my Dad he was pretty good and should keep going, but my dad had me and didn't think he could juggle it all at the time. Not too long after that Dre flew Em out

I was there on that set for two days. My friends were in it as extras, I just snuck in to see a film being made and to eat the free food(off the chain btw) . But my biggest regret is I was a well known designer and builder that got those skills from a desire to work as a set designer in Hollywood. I had long before 8mile given that up. I thought the movie was stupid because who wants a rap movie... so they made an announcement looking for set builders. I was like nah. My boys went and gave them my name and even came to our table asking for me. I still was like nahhh. I didn't say shit. Not interested. Had no clue that was the directors wife plus the film was historic. I fucked up lol

What people don't know is that outside of America, There was no battle rap scene. There was a few tournaments but no one took it serious cause no one knew what battle rap was. Huh? Battle Rap Scene been a thing wayyyy before 8 Mile. I'm from Philly, there was alot of battle raps tournaments taking place here, the biggest battle we had was Freeway Vs. Em doesn’t battle rap like these new battle rappers. Em freestyle battle raps, that’s a whole different animal. If Em rehearsed all his bars and prewrote everything for each different person he knew he was battling ahead of time he’d be unstoppable.
