Nah it always has been around, just not in the mainstream/top commercial level. Havent you heard the impossible kid from Aesop Rock last year? Or heard any songs from Token, A.F.R.O or Dem Atlas? The same people compaining about the lack of lyrics are the ones not looking for it. This decade its mumble rap last decade was trap and dubstep and before that it was original because it was all still new. People gotta go back to their roots. Who inspired you.
