True. Houdini still is a 🔥 song though.
What many people don't realize about Eminem is he has one biological daughter, Hailey, but he has raised 3 daughters. Kim's sister was strung out on drugs and couldn't raise her kid, Alaina, so when she was only a couple of years old, Eminem and Kim adopted her. Then they broke up, Kim hooked up with another dude and got pregnant with Stevie and dude bounced. Eminem adopted her as well. He has had custody of ALL 3 girls this entire time and raised them all as if they were his ALL his OWN biological children.

This is a masterpiece. You can feel the pain dripping off his every pore. The visuals, the way he allows you into his deepest dark thoughts is intimate. Most of us have thought of or visualised hurting someone that we loved that betrayed us. Their relationship was so toxic in the end. He has no reason to regret writing this, if he does it’s only because he knew one day Hallie would be old enough to hear it. I love this and the way it made me feel.

MMLP1 is the GOAT album! Every track is fire or wild or a combo of the two 🔥🔥🔥
EMINEM DOES BOTH VOICES & PRODUCED THE BEAT TO THIS MASTERPIECE - Does anyone watch scary movies? Music is art too
Its taken me years to appreciate this song... I was also like 12 when I heard it for the first time... but over the years its felt like raw emotion and art and human emotion that honestly we all experience in some form. He was ANGRY, HURT, LOST, DESPERATE, DERANGED, IMPULSIVE and RAW. It was insane he used her name (everyone would have known who anyway) ... but I look at it as... he went into the studio to express his emotions and what he wanted to do... but ultimately didn't act on those thoughts.... and thats whats always been EMs MO. He's saying it.... but doesn't act on most of the shit he says. Most extreme form of expression for sure.
This is one of those songs that is at the same time a remarkable piece of art but also probably shouldn't have been made. Eminem has said that he regrets making it as well. It can be hard to draw the line between expressing yourself through art and respecting the privacy of the people around you, but I think this song definitely crosses it.

@brittanycrawford731

Eminem regrets putting Haley’s names in songs due to privacy he regrets she had to see her parents fights become public fodder and debate. I think the song helps others visualize what victims of abuse go thru and shows the mindset of a person so hurt betrayed angry and out of control that he kills his wife’s lover his ex wife and in the end himself also placing the blame on her new guy and her. It shows that even Eminem ‘s love and care for his own daughter comes second to his pain anger depression and revenge. Ironically if he had done this he’d have orphaned the daughter he loves so much. Shows from beginning to end his rapid spiraling and incongruity in his feelings words promises to Haley professing to love her and sheds number 1 priority for him to leaving her to deal with the trauma he will cause her and change her life forever due to his own actions

This didn’t actually happen, it’s just him portraying his thoughts, the way he felt after being cheated on. If you’ve ever felt that kind of betrayal, you’d understand where this came from more.

This is why Gen X complains about the “new” music. We came up with music that paints a visual/emotional picture. The music makes you feel something no matter how controversial. It takes you on an emotional rollercoaster… BUT please remember this is a time where social media didn’t exist. We couldn’t see everything real time. So we let the artist be free and creative….
I just laughed at your reaction man. That song didn't even give me a reaction when I first heard it many moons ago. Some ppl got a stomach for Eminem's art and some don't. But some can relate to the hurt he went through during that time. So it's normal to some of us.

Lol this was the Real Slim Shady ... this song for us was pure art. It showed raw emotion and betrayal. It actually probably helped alot of us tackle emotions that was expected to be botttled up back then. This was dark...but amazing. It exposed the darkness in the mind, and brought light to men's psyche to betrayal.
I don't really even like reaction videos. The guy who did this reaction video is hilarious. I genuinely enjoyed watching everything about it. This song is a MASTERPIECE A metaphor for intense love & heartbreak. Just like movies, books, tv music can depict graphic violence just the same, it’s an art form.
I remember this song when i was 12. And i dont have depression or anger issues. The ultimate venting song.
Em went in back in the shady lol love all his music
Theres no surprise he did so well in 8mile as an actor when you hear this. I still dont know why ppl want this guy cancelled for saying things when acting out a character. Do they want to cancel John Wick ? Or Keanu Reeves for playing that role? Art is art.
This is the Eminem that scare gen Z. He was so raw and real and unapologetic. The thing that I find the most impressive with this is the rhyme schemes and cadence. You forget it’s a rap song until you really listen to the lyrics and realize he is rhyming and putting the usual multi -syllabic schemes. I think this was written as a release of the anger he had for a relationship that was very taxing on him. The story of him and Kim is very public. It was a toxic relationship, she was using drugs and he was on tour and didn’t have time to dedicate to her and the beautiful thing that came out of it was Hailey and the fact he ended up being a great dad. In the end this song stuck out as a moment in time of a very toxic situation.
This is why our generation is different. I was 18 during Eminem's peak. He is a beast. Hilarious watching this new generation freak completely out!😂
