Помня като дете как имахме една холна маса, която по проект се разгръщаше, но всъщност не можеше. Когато питах веднъж баща ми, "тази маса е счупена, как я счупихте", той ми отговори - "счупихме я, когато България играеше срещу Франция на Парк дьо Пренс. При гола на Костадинов изригнахме и я счупихме с краката си..."

I read here among the posts that Ginolas’ blunder cost him ever being able to play for the French national team. After watching the replay, I can see why. I am not sure who for France took that free kick nor who crossed the ball, but, my guess is that Ginolas was the guy that crossed it. There was no French player anywhere near the area to which he crossed the ball. He must have had nightmares for years about this. I pray he has come to terms with it. I know what it’s like to have a heavy heart about some football (soccer) game, and it can be wearing. Until today, and I have seen the replay of this goal 50 times or more, I never knew about this aspect of the run of play that led to Emil Kostadinov’s goal.

Even now, after a lot of time has passed, it is an amazing scene.

This has to be one of the best feelings in the world. Last minute, you receive the ball, you have the hopes and dreams from your whole nation behind, and you shoot, you shoot with all your strenght, and you have the most beautiful scene when you watch the ball hitting the crossbar and going in. This is art, there is no sport like football.

Doesn’t change the fact that France lost that game.,cantona never played in a World Cup. Papin has only 1 goal at a WC to his name. Meanwhile Stoichkov has a WC golden ball and Balakov was in the all tournament team. This Bulgarian team beat the previous two WC winners in Germany and Argentina. Helped Stoichkov win the ballon d’or as well that year.
