Gold Coast and Brisbane do their park spaces very well. As a NSW resident just over the border I am so envious.

I'm from the Sunshine Coast, so a little out of the area you recognised, but just wanted to say that LOTS of the park spaces are kept so well due to hard working land care volunteers. If you can join a local group near where you are, it is very worth while 😊

Do you really need to be here before the Olympics? if you can plan your arrival for a month after the Olympics finding accommodation will be much easier, it's already difficult getting accommodation in Brisbane now, it will be crazy hard in 2032 (like it was in Sydney in 2000). but I guess that depends how much you care about the Olympics itself. I'm a little biased and think Brisbane is the best place to live, but I moved here in 2002 so I've stayed here long enough to justify my bias 🤣

Just found your channel. Regarding distances -- you'll get used to driving long distances in Australia a it is a BIG country, the 6th biggest in the world and almost the size of the USA. Aussies think nothing of it. When I and my husband went to England, we couldn't get over how quickly we got to our destinations within the country and had to adjust plans to that and having more time. England is the size approximately of my state of Victoria in Australia, the second smallest, the second most populous but with the most populous capital city, Melbourne. My parents emigrated to Oz from the UK 72 years ago and before I was born. Life is wonderful here and we count our blessings and thank them for their decision to emigrate. My extended family of three generations (parents now deceased) live in the four eastern states of Oz., with one family on the Gold Coast nearby to you. Best wishes for your family's resettlement and life here.

We are adjusting slowly it's not just a case of having a little walk down to the local shops anymore, especially in the heat. But we are so happy we have made the move over here and looking forward to finally settling... thank you for watching and your comment

Welcome, mate. A Warning to ALWAYS swim between the red/yellow flags on beaches. They show areas patrolled by lifeguards, and swimmers will have much more chance of being rescued if they get into difficulties, not so much if they're out of sight!

I kept the microwave box and the foam from around it , put the foam back in the box, turned it upside down and used it as a temporary table with some cheap garden chairs that were on clearance sale, that was our dining room setup for the first few months, buying all the furniture for a whole house is a big hit on the budget when moving country, especially to Oz, so any little thing you can do to spread it out by a few months and give yourself some time to earn a bit more money before the next furniture purchase helps. maybe that will help someone 🤞
