To this day I will never understand why this zone has never been brought back as a legitimate remake stage. To me this stage is just as iconic as Green Hill and has a amazing theme to boot.

Because when Sega brings back old stages it's so they can cater to nostalgia freaks, who have near-universally convinced themselves that The First One Is Always The Best One.

Because ultimatelly, this zone is green hill with less charisma. I'd rather make them bring different zones than "the other green hill".

Simply put, it's because Green Hill Zone is the more recognizable and iconic zone to most people, and they're both similar enough in aesthetic. I'm not disagreeing with you. In fact, I'd prefer a remake of emerald hill over Green Hill, too, but I believe that's the reason Sega chooses to always remake Green Hill over Emerald Hill.

Even though this is just Green Hill with a different name, still doesn’t take away how awesome this song is.

Listening to Emerald Hill Zone always feels like a breath of fresh air. Like, a "clears-my-sinuses" kind of fresh feeling.

The bassline, man, can never get enough of it.

Love the acoustic of "Wood Zone" at the end. Also, incredibly excited for the next song; I know exactly what it's gonna be!

Yeah, I kept waiting for 2-Player Emerald Hill music to be worked in, so I'm glad it popped up at the end there :).

Sonic the Hedgehog 2 was not only the first Sonic game I ever played, it was also the first video game I ever played! I was, like, 4 years old when I got it and a Sega Genesis, and I love the game to this day!

HOLY SHIT I STILL CAN'T BELIEVE THIS IS REAL AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA As the girl who made it her life's mission to force this song into existence, thank you SO much, Jonny. This is everything I wanted it to be and more. This song just makes me so damn happy. And thanks for letting me get some of the footage, it's still kinda insane to see my footage in one of your videos. ...man, it really is crazy to finally see this happen. Amen my fellow Sonic 2 player! Emerald Hill is way better then green hill in my personal opinion. I understand why alot of players love green hill. but to be honest i am tired of seeing green hill return. Let's give other past stages some love like Emerald hill zone! and Mystic Cave zone!

Sonic 2 is one of my personal favorite soundtracks in the series and I have a deep nostalgia for Emerald Hill. This rendition is amazing.

Man, I LOVE how you try to give the spotlight to many instruments, not just the guitar (Especially considering it's your main instrument) (I think?? not sure now that I think about it lol) My point is: I love that you don't give the main melody to just the guitar. And you even added a cool bass solo. That's something I love to see in any song. Besides that THIS COVER IS AMAZING, GREAT JOB, I LOVE YOUR WORK!

I'm pretty sure Sonic 2 was the game that came with the Genesis when my mom bought the system for me in the 90's. And, subsequently, Sonic 2 was my first Sonic game. My eyes lit up when I saw this video in my newsfeed. Emerald Hill Zone is such an awesome track. I've always loved the active bass line, and I'm so happy you did those stops at 1:39 to let the bass shine. And the high A leading up to it at 1:36 sounds SO good. Needless to say, I lost control of my bodily functions during those 5 seconds. And a key-change for Knuckles! I favorited this video so hard that I've damaged my computer mouse with the sheer force of clicking. Thanks for shredding ALL the instruments so well, Jonny!

Despite playing Sonic 2 before Sonic 1, I have more of a fondness for Green Hill Zone than Emerald Hill, which is weird... No amount of hyperbole is going to sell how much I like this. Going to put in my usual request to my favorite artists to cover ANYTHING from Ridge Racer Type 4.

I love it! Stays true to your 2010 version, including the chill section at 0:44. I remember thinking this would be in your 2016 Sonic Medley, however a full remix was worth the wait. I find myself coming back to Sonic 2 the most out of the trilogy, though I love them all equally. This was also great timing to release as the Sonic 2 movie came out earlier this year which did phenomenally. Is that Biolizard I see at the end?! 2 Sonic remakes let's gooooooo, I've been wanting a full remix of Biolizard for so long! I believe the last time you did 2 Sonic remixes in a row was Egg Reverie & Egg Dragoon!!!

One of the first games I ever played was Sonic 2. Never could get past that chemical plant zone in the early days so this is the iconic sonic song for me. Thank you for playing a little bit of my childhood.
