When creating moodboard. Pull stuff and put it in a folder/PDF. They can be anything from movies, images, tv, music, locations, colours, designs and etc. Could ask someone to make to nicer. Part of the artform is communication. Filmmaking is making millions of decision making. When you are making a movie on a small budget. You need to use everything in your arsenal to communicate stuff as briefly and concisely as possible. Don't manage actors or actresses. Don't sweet or beat around the bush but rather, speak to them plainly and directly. Be blant and just say it how it is, but in a respectable way. Have a no bullshit or asshole/rude policy. Don't shout at people. Making movies is like a symphony. You have to manage egos. Approaching a a process without ego, you are setring the tone. You are there to serve the movie. There to change people's lives. Have a vibe on set. Pick and trust your heads of departments and cast. Castings: no auditions. Just have meetings (once the actors have sent their audition tapes and they have been casted). Table reads. Its about casting the actors you would fall in love with. NOTE: As a director, the most important job is to always remember what the audience knows. As when you are so in it, you forget. Keep and bare the audience in mind. Music: During the creative porocess. Live in the story for years. Have a playlist. Have a playlist for all your films. Although, it is adviced that you shouldnt put songs in your script, it is suggested/adviced if it helps you. Pro production - Make sure/let your editor have a very thorough editors pass b4 you watch your movie or cut. This can be affected by budget. Look at cuts, before you are shooting as you can get a better shot than the previous one like a much better close-up or a better line. Relax, your you are done. Reserve the budget when doing reshoots. Address everything when you are on set. Think of 3 or more things to do better once you have rested.
