Very nice work sir. Just done my lathe and it’s pleasing seeing it looking and working well again.

Cleaned up nicely Cliff. I think you will have to get the lug welded, they rely on the tension of the bolts to set the free play in the saddle. Mine is sensitive to bolt torque. Best wishes, Dean.

Coming on well Cliff! I would have been tempted to drag itoutside and give it a thorough degrease and pressure wash! but the way you are doing it is going to make it a much nicer machine! KBO! Phil

Hello Cliff, that lead screw bracket crack is a common problem with the machines in this range. The Zamak alloy is not really strong enough to handle the thrust loads it gets. Some of the fellows in the Super 11 group have made replacement parts of steel. 👍

Very interesting Cliff, can you get a nut and washer on the otherside of that welded piece ?

Exactly what I was thinking, not checked to see if there's room? If there is I'll "jbweld" a nut or plate on there! All the best, Cliff.
