Hi Jean. Yes. It makes it look neater in the back of the towel. You can also use Cloud Cover as well. It's embroidery backing. It works just as great!

I save my scraps of stabilizers (all kinds) I did not have to cut ANY new pieces when I embroidered Christmas stockings this year, I made over 100 (students, co-workers, families etc) worked fantastic and I used up most of my scrap. Awesome!

Hi Norma. You will love the 1055X. My favorite feature is the scanning. It shows you exactly where the embroidery is going to be placed and you can move it around. Have fun with your machine!

Hi Teresa. The machines are not hard to learn. You just have to get use to it. Once you got it, you will be nonstop!!! Glad you enjoyed the video!

Great video!! Why didn’t you rotate the design so the towel would hang down the front?? I find it easier to do that and not worry about getting anything caught in the machine or under the needle!!

Is the tender touch the same material you would back a shirt with? Thanks again for a great tutorial. I am new and use a Brother SE1900.❤️

Hi Linda. Welcome to the world of the SE1900!!! The backing is not the same material of the shirt. It's a piece of soft cloth that is ironed on the back of the embroidery. It's mostly used for shirts so the embroidery doesn't irritate the skin. I like it cause it does a great job of making the backing of the embroidery look neat. Presentation counts especially when you are selling items.

I didn’t see you remove the basting stitch. How do you remove it without catching loops of the towel.

Hi Peggy I did remove the basting stitch. Look at the part when I was cutting the threads in the back of the towel. That is what I was doing. Once I cut the stitches in the back I can then pull it off easily.

Hi Beth, Yes. Just cut out enough to cover the back of the embroidery and iron it on. I use a heat press with 325 temp for 30 seconds.

Thanks Jeanette for a wonderful Live last night...even though we had some hiccups....I had a couple of questions I wasn't able to ask.....First one is when you use your single needle machine, do you have a separate bobbin case when you would sew/embroider? I was told by my local sewing store that I/we/peeps should be using a separate bobbin case when we embroider vs when we sew....hmmmm I've never heard of that have you? Did you use a separate one when you used you brother single needle?....I have a single needle baby lock....similar to your brother....very similar...mine is an aventura 2. Also, in your live last night you said if you wear something....do not use/ or it's not a good idea to use tear away cuz it bunches up with the washes....But when you make towels you use tear away.....does it bunch up with towels? I know people don't wear towels, but we still wash them....Have you had anyone say that they bunch up after the wash as I know the tear away sort of washes away after some washes....thanks for all the videos....thank you Lynette

Hi Lynette. Yes the hiccups definitely changed things up. But it happens. I'm glad I was able to get back on at 9. I use the same bobbin case for sewing and embroidering as well as the same type of bobbin. If you change to another bobbin with another weight then I can see why they would advise on changing the case. But I always use the same bobbin so I never had a need to change it. The kitchen towels that I make are for decor only. So using tear away is fine. If you are going to use the towel to clean then I would say use cutaway for sure. If you are only washing once in a while you shouldn't have any issues.

Hi Annie. If the order is a complete custom, Yes. I sent the customer a pic of the towel to get approval before the stitch out. These are orders where I have to get a design digitalized and create from scratch. Now if is just a personalized order where I change the name on the towel I don't do this.
