Embracing Modesty: Standing Out in a World Obsessed with Vanity

Ойын-сауық

In this episode, "Embracing Modesty," join our host Lauren as she thoughtfully discusses the need to approach how we dress and present ourselves from a biblical perspective. The Bible tells us we should live in a way that doesn't cause a brother to stumble, and it also reminds us that we are so much more than our appearance. This can be challenging to navigate in a world obsessed with vanity and promiscuity. As Christian men and women, we have been set apart by Christ, so it's important to understand that there will be things the world wears that we shouldn't and patterns the world creates that we shouldn't follow. We have been perfectly, fearfully, and wonderfully made, and there is so much freedom to experience when we seek to understand the place of modesty and vanity in our lives. God wants our hearts, and there is purity and holiness we can step into when we include God in this area of our lives.
Lauren hopes to encourage others to join her as she walks out her own journey of modesty and removing vanity from her life. We hope that if you're a woman or man struggling in this area, you will reach out for prayer and that God will reveal to you the steps He would have you take. Love this!! ❤Yes, what is the heart posture and reasonings. “You should clothe yourselves instead with the beauty that comes from within, the unfading beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is so precious to God.” ‭‭1 Peter‬ ‭3‬:‭4‬ ‭ You did very good with this teaching! 👏 love u 😘

just like how some guys inject oil in their biceps to create that look of big bulging biceps, but when it in effect is just the looks but without the muscle, it renders itself powerless

Consider reading 1 Peter 3: 3-4 in the New Testament. Talks about purity and how our natural self is Godly and what God wants from us. I haven't worn makeup in 2 years. Makeup also isn't natural. It has chemicals that is super harsh for our skin. In Jesus time, makeup wasn't even a thing. Jesus never wore jewlery, He was natural. I only wear revealing clothing for my husband since that is permitted. Glad you talked about 1 Corinthians. Our bodies are sacred to Jesus and we must be modest for him. 1 Timothy and 1 Peter is what I follow as far as modesty standards. I used to allow the world to dictate what I should wear and now I allowed Jesus to convict me on my clothing and do not allow the worldly influences to enter my mind (satan is sneaky). Jesus loves me the way I am, naturally. He is the only one I need to live for. Love the part of not allowing others to stumble. You were spot on. But that's why even wearing makeup can cause others to sin. Its a false representation of ourself and God wants us to be natural for Him. The Holy Spirit and our conviction from Jesus is what helps guide us to just live more and more for him everyday. I have a friend sadly who cannot leave her house without makeup and she says she is Christian. I have been praying so much for her to just love herself as Jesus loves her. She is beautiful the way Jesus made her. Praying for you sister. That Jesus continues to convict you on modesty and that there is SO much more to it than just not showing revealing body parts. Jesus wants us to be natural for Him. 😊 God bless you! Cheering for you from New Mexico!
