I mean, they definitely chose to work on it, which isa level of short circuiting as you said, but the real crazy has to be the mangaka who created the original work. As unhinged as the anime trailer looks, I’m still not sure if it’ll match up to how crazy the manga was.

i think that's not quite what it means. This is from my limited understanding of Japanese, but "Bakana" is used kinda as our "no way". The MC said "bakana" because she was shocked that a banana was stored inside the horn, so she said "Bakana!" (no way!) and the narrator said "Banana" as a pun

When i saw the first PV for the first time i knew it was going to be gold and thought i found a hiddem gem. At that point no one was talking about it. And when the second PV came out this shit blew up and everyone was talking about it This is what it feels like for a show you like to become mainstream huh. Feels weird

There has always been a Type A vs Type B discourse since the late 90s/early naughts onward. People that like the typical shounen battle anime obviously wouldn’t like iyashikei, CGDCT, isekai, multimedia franchises, and 4koma adaptation brainrot gag anime. Of which the former camp make up the majority of modern day anime fans.

honestly, neither do i, but the internet is obsessed with it. All i knew was a lot of the artists on twitter that i follow made a parody of it. It was actually my first time waching & hearing it on Garnt's stream. I think it's just that, a brain rot clip, because you can loop it endlessly and it's somewhat catchy.
