Let's talk about Embers Adrift in 2024 What New Features and updates will we get? What will Embers Adrift have in store for MMORPG lovers here in 2024? Embers Adrift is an MMORPG that released in late 2021 by an Indie dev team of 12 developers and one I have been enjoying since it launched. It has come a long way throughout 2023, and now that we are in 2024 and the team at Stormhaven will be releasing their roadmap plans for their still new MMO soon, I thought, this is a good time for me to release my predictions for what Embers Adrift might bring to us for 2024. Some of these features or updates are more of a wish-list, others are things I genuinely think we will see, things that I believe will grow the playerbase and enrich the community and the content of this new MMO for 2024.
Let's start off by saying that Embers Adrift is a new MMO that features old-school MMORPG design philosophies : The journey matters, and it's a long journey to the max level of 50 and it will be filled with grouping up, working together, learning your class and how other classes change the dynamics of the group, dungeon-crawling, learning about the world through the lore through non-hand-holding quests, and looking for epic loot : which is basically my favorite things about MMORPGs, and all this, without a cash shop! Embers offers an optional subscription for only 10 dollars US a month with perks, and that's it. Now, with the basics out of the way, let's talk about my predictions for 2024, and what Embers Adrift will add, because if you've been following along, Embers is updated every month with solid meaty updates and upgrades and the game has completely come into it's own during the course of 2023, and I think we can expect some even bigger things in 2024.
The number one complaint I hear from the community is the fact that Embers Adrift doesn't have a caster class implemented : And to be fair, the lore seems to be leading up to it, as a matter of fact, in the distant past, there were mages : they utilized the power of Ember in some way akin to what we might think of a wizard. And also, in case you aren't aware : Embers Adrift DOES have magic, it is something all classes can unlock at level 20 and it's very unique : almost every ability in the game can be "Embered Up" giving it additional benefits and magical attributes, but this doesn't fill the need of those wizard and caster lovers out there. Honestly, I think during 2024 we will see the release of a full caster class : the lore has room for it: and this is just my theory, but if we learn to actually make a powerful Ember Stone a part of our own chemistry : by implanting one within us, and it can recieve it's charge from our body itself : that could be the lore for how a caster class could exist. Of course, they could go many routes with how this works : But one thing is for certain : Ember is the source of magic, so I will assume it will work that way, and before I can talk about my next theory for introducing a caster class, it brings me to another update I'd like to see Embers introduce to their MMO :
A new race! As of now there are only humans, and a new race could be another way they introduce a caster class : Perhaps this new race has the innate ability to cast and regenerate magic without filling an Ember Stone for example. It's worth mentioning while talking about a new race in Embers Adrift that there are already the Corduns in the newest zone added to the game : And they originate from the Red Planet in the sky, so they are technically aliens and we know VERY LITTLE about them, but they DO have interesting names if you assume my theory is correct : Cordun Firecharmer, Cordun Waterwalker and Cordun Earthshaker to give you an idea. Introducing a new race like the Cordun as a playable option that can be a caster would be VERY exciting, and races get people excited and add a ton of variety to the game.

Just some solo loops in Ember Veins and reducing some of the 3 chevron mobs in the overland zones to 2 chevron would go a long way. The ants in Dryfoot, for example.

I like everything on your wish list. A caster class is what would get me to play this game more, and probably even move it to my main MMO. Keep up the great content in 2024 :)

If Caster/Magic class happens ill try embers adrift 100%.
Good video Nathan. Really enjoy playing this game. Would love to see some of the stuff you mentioned. New race, caster class especially. Would also love to see some of the current classes and systems updated. Alchemy needs some improvement and some classes need improvements.

They wont add caster classes...its low fantasy. Already said they wont. Alchemy is magic

@Justin-vc3qy Well aware, but 1) community feedback is important and if the only feedback provided is within the scope of the current game then we do them a disservice, and 2) they most certainly can bring in what I'm referring to as a "caster class" within the low fantasy setting of the game in the form of alchemy at an earlier level. But thanks for your oh so helpful comment :)
Lets hope all of these or at least some of the mentioned pieces of content is added to the game. What I would like to see added as well is more depth to the classes and combat, optimization and as you said, an auction house. I am having high hopes for the game, I wish the dev team a lot of luck with the game!

Love your videos, but if you check out the forums and talk to the developers, they have no plans to add a caster class. They don't like magic and I think Alchemy is as close as it is going to get. Personally they need more content for the zones beyond the starter zone. More things to help out the grind, like the ability to port out of dungeons. Revamp of classes as everyone is a fighter. Revamp of amor as this is the biggest downside of the game. They don't really seem to be focused on what the community wants right now, they seem to be focused on their vision and finishing that.
Let's get some caster classes! I'm in if that happens! MAGIC!!!

New race YES. Raids YES... Caster class YES. Dwarf Paladin YES. The one thing I personally would add. Put in a fix that addresses loot whores with mats while in groups / dungeons. Fix the issue with gathering tools that leads to the loot whore for mats while in groups.

@@sakumisan Same here mate :-) The reason it came up in my head is because City of Heroes is back from the dead. NCSoft recently granted an emulator server the official CoH license, so it has now been reborn anew as it rises from the ashes

Unity engine is junk for this game...Game optimization sucks so bad!!!
Love your videos but this game has to be one of the worst games I've ever seen. After wasting 30$ on this overpriced trash bag and giving it a shot for at least two weeks I just cant imagine anyone other then the devs making it to lvl 50 and actually enjoying it. Keep up the good job!

On the flip side I have been loving the game. I got over the "need to get everything done quick" and am now enjoying it much like my first EQ play-through all those years ago.

there will never be PvP, games only been out for a year and 3 months, but they've stated they haven't got the dev team to even attempt to try to balance for a good pvp experience. I'm sorry you didn't like it, but most people in my community have really enjoyed it, including me

@@original1537 Embers has only been out over a year. It was always a PVE only game, and it has been clear since day 1 that they have no plans for PVP. It's mainly for group based content. Dungeon crawling, etc. Maybe you're thinking of something else, not sure.

clearly you didn't like the game, we get it but relax cowboy a lot of us actually like it. Its like everything else in this life, everyone has different taste, different points of view, etc. I'm sorry you had to spend 2 weeks to realize you don't like a game. I usually know I don't like a game before buying it.
