I came back to the Catholic church through the latin mass. It's all about God. No distractions. Yes , vertical. Novus ordo is horizontal. It's about the people

I am seriously considering switching over to the Tradentine mass. Though Catholic all my life (I was born on the same year as you Jessie) and did go to a Catholic School) but fell away from the church until 2006. I’ve been a Minister of the Eucharist for about 10 years and though now I’ve learned a lot about this service these 10 years have helped me to try to become a better Catholic Christian. I am very disappointed with the direction the ordinary mass is taking. I’m actually surprised that the restrictions were placed on the Traditional mass and not on the ordinary since it is becoming more of a fiesta and Protestant… pure emotion. It unfortunately is getting increasingly more disrespectful and it breaks my heart that no one does anything about it. Please pray for me; my desire is to abandon myself in God’s Will and not mine.👏🏼

I went to the Indult Tridentine Mass for several years , but after much study and prayer 🙏 In 2020 my husband of 32 years and I switched to the local SSPX Chapel because they don’t need to permission to say the Tridentine Mass. The SSPX chapel never stopped giving the sacraments. Viva Christo Rey! 🙏🙏❤️❤️

SSPX is not Catholic. It’s a schismatic group who have separated themselves from the Catholic Church. Get out of it!

@@lanbaode Archbishop Vigano response Sspx “The assertion of the Roman diplomat is found in the following paragraph: “I believe that the essential point for effectively conducting a spiritual, doctrinal, and moral battle against the enemies of the Church is the persuasion that the present crisis is the metastasis of the conciliar cancer. If we have not understood the causal relationship between Vatican II and its logical and necessary consequences over the course of the last sixty years, it will not be possible to steer the rudder of the Church back to the direction given by her Divine Helmsman, the course that she maintained for two thousand years.”

@@Holymotherchruch Vigano is not an authority here. He is simply a disgruntled papal diplomat who was mothballed for mishandling the U.S. papal visit in 2015 and sidetracked from his clerical career - meaning not promoted to cardinal - so he turned against his former boss and hurled so many lies against the Pope - and people like you believe him - how little you know!

@@lanbaode sorry for your misunderstanding of how the modernist have taken over the church and “Protestantized” it and unfortunately brainwashed so many good faithful people, maybe like yourself into believing that they are taking the church in the right direction by destroying the Mass and the sacraments which are the most valuable and powerful tools against Satan. It takes much study and grace to understand. I’m not going to argue or attack you because it’s not the Christian way.

I stumbled into the church I have been attending for the past year out of nothing less than Divine Providence. That is a story in itself. Anyway, I attended Latin Mass as a small child (single digit years) and then it was gone. On August 13, 2023 as an adult I decided to attend the Latin Mass at my church of the past year. I thought I had died and gone to heaven! It is so beautifully celebrated that I am still quietly stunned. This is my heaven on earth. May God be forever praised!

I love the solemnity and how liturgical the Latin Mass is, I’ve been to one twice; too bad it’s an hour drive from where I live.

Just read what you wrote about the Latin mass & how you're an hour away.. I'm probably much older than you.. 1965 the Latin Mass was taken away from us.. I would say I left the Catholic church for some years because I thought it was gone even though I was told in the Catholic school that the gates of hell would not prevail! When the nuns quit wearing their veils....The Sacred the Holy seemed gone taken away.. Made just a simple place for people to pray.. The guitars came out. I left I did not see the rosary anymore ....... nobody there on Saturday night for confession like it was all of my life ..We moved to Nebraska in 1978 ... Priests left the Priesthood 7 in one year... Anybody was giving communion laughing at Mass trumps, guitars, drums ..I met an older gentleman who had been a lawyer and, a judge..He said there's a Latin Mass in Rapid City South Dakota.. Nebraska our city was about 3 hours from Rapid City South Dakota... We went once a month for 3 years it changed my whole life! I was never the same after that ...I knew we had to move out of Nebraska to come to a little town in South Dakota where they pray the prayer to Saint Michael... the choirs in the back it's not a Latin Mass there is one 38 miles away every Sunday afternoon which is well worth the trip ....I'm glad you found the Latin Mass you'll never regret going.. South Dakota USA❤🙏

@@germain1947 Thanks for your comment, I’m lucky enough that the priest that’s my pastor (Novus Ordo) is a holy man. People line up for confession and he never sugar coats the truth. It would be nice if he celebrated the Latin Mass at least once a month.

Wow, that's how I feel after serving at a properly celebrated novus ordo. Jess, how does language matter? Angels are spiritual beings with no body and demons are fallen angels who have the same characteristics as their holy brethren. As I understand this teaching of the Church, one of the characteristics is that they can understand what we think and feel, they use this to exploit our weakness. Question then, if this is true, why does language, a characteristic of earthly man, matter?

Latin is one of one 3 languages which were found on the sign above Jesus on the cross! Latin is also a dead language no one uses it so it hasn’t been defiled by the culture. And as Jessie also said it is the official language of the church. Hope this helps! God Bless!

There are many variations of the Mass? Before 1955, on 1955, 1962, 1965 these have different way of celebrating the Holy Mass? But God doesn't want variety on how we depict on how He died on the Cross? I say these because SSPX celebrate the 1962 and 1965 Mass of Pope Paul vi but I have no idea of 1955. I think Monsignor Patrick Perez is very knowledgeable on this.
