Emmanuel must've made this guy miss three out of every four punches, and at times was just toying with him.... but he wasn't brought there to win, and that's boxing's dark side....the cards were in before they put on the gloves, as long as Burton didn't ko Ried, he was never going to win no matter what he did

As much as I love boxing, it is a sport governed by con artist. The public are conned into thinking that fights are fair. They are fair to the fighters who bend over and take it and say the right things before they get in the ring. Emmanuel was a brilliant boxer, but he didn't fit the mold and therefore didn't have as many wins on his record as he should have.

Great fight. Thanks for uploading this. Another fight where it seemed to me like Burton won, but I’m not a professional judge.

Eh I give a couple to Reid (3,5,7,10) and even if you give him 4&6 because I seen those two as draws it STILL puts Emmanuel up by minimum 1 I put him up by 2 even given Reid the 4&6 because I scored rd 1 10-8 Burton

My scoring: 1st and second go pretty easily to Augustus who is sharper and elusive, outlanding Reid handily in both 20-18 3rd round is a little closer but Augustus lands the bigger shots 30-27 4th round Reid lands some big shots and a lot of jabs to take this one 39-37 5th round was very close as both landed nice shots and a few combos. Augustus walked Reid down the whole round, and reid was warned for several things. Augustus ekes this one out 49-46 6th round is the first really convincing round for Reid who landed more big shots and outmatched Augustus' pitter patter combos with his own 58-56 7th round I have Augustus edging out Reid with more volume and accuracy, despite the commentators call at the end. Reid missed more than he landed, and continues to be warned for various things for the third round in a row. 68-65 8th round Reid dominates landing repeatedly as Augustus looks tired and lacks his usual elusiveness and crispness on his punches 77-75 9th round both men come out looking refreshed as Augustus sticks and moves the whole round. Reid tries to walk him down and manages a couple of nice rights but Augustus takes this one pretty easily 87-84 10th round Augustus tries to start with more of the same but Reid has much better answers this time. After getting caught several times Augustus switches back to a more defensive shell style and manages a few good moments, but Reid takes this one easily. 96-94 11th round Reid starts off strong with several good rights capped off by possibly the best punch of the night with an uppercut that caught Augustus walking in. That seemed to awaken Augustus though and while they were trading a lot, Augustus landed more and bigger shots for the remainder of the round. 106-103 12th round both men dig deep and show they came to win the belt. They trade big exchanges all round and fight straight through to the bell. I scored this round even, and the fight 116-113 for Augustus

I must be the only one on here that DIDN’T see a win for Augustus (Burton). I had it 115-113 for Reid. I thought it was an extremely competitive fight where both guys did well and had their moments, but I thought Reid just won too many rounds out of the middle for Emanuel to take it, despite his efforts in the final 2 rounds.

I had it the opposite way but I could see it from either perspective so I'm not mad at the decision. I feel like Augustus is the most robbed fighter though but this isn't one of them

@@jessehardin8500 so far, what I’ve watched of him lately, I feel like people calling him “the most robbed fighter” is a little bit of an overstatement. Take his 1st fight with Courtney Burton and his fight with Micky Ward. I thought he deserved both of those decisions. HOWEVER, I thought the Burton fight was a little closer than ESPN would’ve had you believed, and I also had the Ward fight a razor-thin one as well. I’ll admit that the ref was horrible in the Burton fight, blowing a knockdown call and very questionably deducting a point from Augustus, but as I said, it still was a little closer than ESPN would’ve admitted. Either way that you look at it though, I personally thought that these 2 fights were close enough that, however likely or unlikely, a legitimate case could be made for (Courtney) Burton and Ward deserving their victories. These weren’t fights like, say, Whitaker-Chavez or Lewis-Holyfield I, where 1 guy CLEARLY deserved the victory and there wasn’t any possible way I could’ve saw it. I had Whitaker and Lewis winning those fights, and I still would’ve had them winning even if I gave their opponents every possible benefit of the doubt. That’s just not a statement that I can necessarily make when it come to all of these Augustus fights.

@@corytclark He definitely got robbed in the Burton fight. Augustus knocked him down with a clean body shot and the ref said it was a low blow. Then augustus got a point taken from him for literally no reason. They even asked the ref why he took the point in between rounds and he said bcuz Augustus spun Burton around which was the exact opposite of what happened. Also Augustus was getting punched in the back of the head and the ref yelled at him instead of Burton. Also I agree with Teddy Atlass score card on that fight. Augustus is def one of the most robbed fighters. The fight before the Burton fight he was whipping dudes ass and got disqualified bcuz he started doing his drunken master thing. A lot of his robberies you can't find on KZread I was looking for them earlier. I haven't watched the Mickey Ward fight in awhile but I remember thinking it was close but Augustus won but I'll check it out again tonight. It's funny bcuz I hardly ever watch today's boxing but I'm always watching old boxing and mma fights. It just seems today's boxing is mostly them hugging and the ref breaking it up

@@jessehardin8500 stylistically speaking, I thought Burton often hurt himself in a lot of his fights. He’d have rounds where he’d look absolutely brilliant in coming forward, landing clear, clean shots, and also mixing in excellent defensive skills. However, right after this, he’d take rounds off by either coming forward without as much of his previously effective offense arsenal, OR he’d just go completely defensive, and even though he had brilliant defense, he just didn’t have much of an offense to win those rounds. I recently saw 2 fights involving Augustus-this one and the Leavander Johnson fight, and the narrative was the exact same for both fights…Augustus started out very impressive in the first 2-3 rounds, landing cleaner, sharper shots and mixing in impressive defense, but then he stopped his offense and/or went completely defensive to let his opponents figure him out and take some rounds. But then he’d close the show strong and win the last couple rounds in huge fashion. I had him drawing with Johnson and then of course losing here to Reid. I know that these are only 2 fights, and they don’t solely comprise all of his fights. However, they are 2 examples of fights where a lot of people liked to scream robbery, and I just honestly didn’t see it.

@@corytclark yeah he seemed to take the middle rounds off a lot for some reason. I mean most of his fights were short notice fights like his fight with Mayweather and ward. I think he had like a week notice. There were fights that he did where they would call him the night before the fight and ask him to fight and he'd take it which is admirable but not smart. He was def his own worst enemy his drunken master thing made the judges and refs hate him but made the fans enjoy watching him. The dudes a warrior in and out of the ring though after he got through fighting he was homeless then got shot in the back of the head in the 2000 somethings and lost all motor functions for a couple yrs. Then I seen a video yesterday were he was training boxers and kids which is why I'm rewatching these fights
