The decision to give the last act of kindness is a hard one as Doc showed. Those two horses had more caring and love given to them in the last hours of their lives than they'd gotten in years. There was no reason either of them should have had to suffer so long.

Check out A Legacy of Legends , it’s a retirement rescue of high end horses who have ended up in the lowest of the low situations. Unimaginable that horses that were Olympian jumpers and other high performance international horses that ended up being saved from slaughter. They are in France but thought if you like seeing horses being saved you might enjoy seeing what can happen to even the elite most expensive horses in the world. 😪

I'm watching this a 2nd time, because I was late. Love Jenna's T-shirt! 😄😄 Since I've watched the lives & shorter update videos, I've seen most of it, but seeing it all together, I often notice different details. The horse with the cowlick was thoroughly unimpressed by Tawnee... lol It really seems that Owen fits right in! I know that Doc Scott can't work forever, but man he's just such a delight! Dr Young is so thorough & educates us all. I really like that about her. So amazing that there were only 2 souls that needed the last act. Even though Snow is completely annoyed by Kory, she still responds appropriately. She'll be awesome once she learns to trust. Once again, thank you for sharing this with us all, & Great job Media Team!

@@annieem3431 you can go into any horse-centred livestock auction across the US, especially in the south where it’s closer to the border, and you’ll see the exact same thing they’re seeing. It’s not illegal, and where it is there’s nothing done about it because it’s so hard to track the owner of the animal. But sure, the open-for-visits, renowned non profit rescue has soooo much to hide, they only care about money after all, right? Why would some meat house want a horse that thin?!?! There's not enough meat there to be worth it. Poor baby! Hope you can save this one. I love all horses but the paints are my number 2 favorite. Number 1.......Gypsy vanner, hands down. They look like fairy tale horses.

It is outstanding work that you are doing. Horses need someone like you to help them in these dire situations. If I could see the horses a little more, in these videos, it would be interesting.

I pray for a day when horses ( and all animals) are treated with dignity and as the sentient ,spirits they are. They are gifts to us. They should never be at a slaughter auction….

This was the first video of yours that I ever watched.... almost a year ago The first time I heard the phrase " Last Act Of Kindness ", I really did not understand .... Except for that black one they didn't LOOK all that bad But if you look, you see the horse's pain If you listen, you hear the doctor's regret If your heart beats, you feel the grief of not being able to do anything else. Thank you Tawnee, for an education I did not even know that I needed
