The 2nd coming of Nas. I haven't heard a finer like-for-like tribute/cover than this right here (and the overall project Elmatic). Sounds just like him - and "Self Made" from his Jericho Jackson project sounds exactly like something Nas would rhyme on/choose as a beat.

IMO most songs on Elmatic are easily greater than those on Illmatic. The legit only reasoning to have Illmatic above Elmatic is because Elmatic wouldn't exist without it. Dude took a classic, flipped, remixed, covered, paid tribute, WHATEVER YOU WANNA CALL IT, he did it and made another classic out of it.

Lyrical genius
This video is gold
This album is one of the best of this year.
Elzhi's 1 of the best ever!!! You can't name 10 better lyricists!! Only El can do justice to an Illmatic remix album! This live jazz production is so smooth!!

@@407zero2 Kdot is not doper than Elzhi in any way shape or form lol and I love Kdot, I don’t think you can put him in the same league as the legends who came before him, but you can for Elzhi, I’d even say Elzhi>>Jay, but I’m not a big Jay fan, but yes 3K, Nas and DOOM might be my top 3

@@docm4544 Nah man listen to yo boys latest stuff, its lackin and he aint coming like L or Lupe or Kanye or even J Cole. You big time sleep. Its cool to have personal favorites but the skill and focus difference is too steep. I haven't listen to jay but what i do know say yo claim is ridiculous hes elite and this guy just isn't, like he got steez n shit but i bet you cant even name 9 tracks of his that blew yo mind. All the names I mentioned I could name at least that. And you severely lackin on kdots top tier lyrics and vocals btw. Thats a top 10 rapper right there. His album this year could bring eem up to top 5.

@@407zero2 Lol bro, Ye is nowhere near Elzhi, same with Cole, not even the same league. I’ve been following Kdot since the mixtape days, I love Kdot, but he’s nit even top TDE member to me, that’s Soul and Zay’s my personal fav, Elzhi has been around since Slum Village days, check out his solo albums, the 1 with Khrysis and the 1 before and not to mention The Preface, his wordplay and metaphors and storytelling is top tier bro

He said Wayne lmao with his lollipop song and failed freestyles
The 2nd coming of Nas. I haven't heard a finer like-for-like tribute/cover than this right here (and the overall project Elmatic). Sounds just like him - and "Self Made" from his Jericho Jackson project sounds exactly like something Nas would rhyme on/choose as a beat.
Omg I didnt believe that a new song would be made with the old school touch from the 90's pls we need more music like this in 2012 ! ! !
This song is beautiful, I love how the beat was flipped, the whole thing is very nostalgic, love it
top 3 lyricist ever
GREAT FEELINGS very emotional song back in the days....
dope track...much luv to the Slum Village fam!!! 1 of the most slept on groups of ALL-TIME! RIP J Dilla & Baatin....
THANK YOU ELZHI! SO DOPE! REAL HIP-HOP. MUCH RESPECT!
Like i said elzhi is the goat
this is a brilliant tribute to one of my favourite songs, well done Elzhi :D!
Guys rap is coming back :) those new generation rappers are bringing old school back.
Gives me chills with the first line💘
Possibly my favorite song from the mixtape, so dope. In my top 5 releases from this year. eLZhi on his way to being a GOAT tbh

You love hip hop when you're able to relate to the artist

Keep doing your thing!! and the support will grow
this song gives me the chills...
Rediculous metaphors bro!!!!🔥 🔥 🔥 composition is sick asf 😷
How can anyone dislike this song???C'mon people this is true hip-hop.
bought vinyl!! love it.
Absolutely brilliant....Imagine the heat Elzhi would be putting out if Dilla was still around to produce.
Wonder if Nas has peeped this. Imitation is THEE highest form of flattery. Elzhi is an A1 lyricist in his own right.
Positive vibes for real hip hop music.
this video got some legendary footages
eLZhi is the Greatest of this generation..period! A Hip-Hop Saviour!
They look like baby haha Thanks to Elzhi to give us this song and all these videos
one of the best tribute covers i heard, not as good as original obviously, BUT its good to have two great versions of one of the greatest hip hop tracks of all time

***** not sure what the purpose of your reply was? U telling me my opinion? I'm sure I made it pretty clear. Or are you disagreeing with my opinion. In which case a simple "I do not agree with you" would have sufficed. In which case I would have respected it and not opened my mouth an made myself look like an idiot like you

Some songs are better but some are not, some have better beats like Detroit state of mind was a better beat than NY, but NY had a better verse. Or songs like One love -elzhi was a better beat and bars
Only this guy can flip it without disrespecting Nas' flawless 5-mic album, especially since he was part of Slum Village. It's fucking fire.
Elzhi is the best MC/Rapper/ Lyricist of the year. MVP Of Hip Hop 2011!
Detroit has some serious fire power in the rap game. Elzhi alone is a force to be feared, but he's not even the cities brightest gem! That is mind blowing. I love Elzhi though i always have a few of his tracks play on my ipod daily. Dude is the truth.
aeh peace to my big bro Elzhi love this video n the song both classic shit frfr 100 El keep goin' hip hop we need u most def big bro n one love always frfr 100
thank you elzhi! KEEPING HIP-HOP ALIVE!
This is pretty awesome.
