    For anybody wanting to learn the Elvish language, I would recommend learning the Welsh language first. The Elvish language is heavily based on the Welsh language. If you learn Welsh, you will have a bit of a head start if Duolingo decide to do an Elvish course.

    I can read and write in tengwar. Tengwar doesn't have enough letters to accommodate Welsh. I would imagine that's because Tolkien didn't put the Welsh parts of Welsh in Sindarin.

    @@Artreii heh sorry, taka platforma na której ja mam zdalne i żeby się tam zalogować musisz mieć kod który tak właśnie wygląda ;) widocznie mało szkół ją ma. No nic, żart spalony, ale mimo tego żyjmy nadzieją na elficki na Duolingo :)

    I think it should be taken up by someone to develop the language further so it can be learnt, but I accept it's a complicated territory because some will see that as heresy against Tolkien I'd love to speak some form of elvish

    Yes, that's a big part of it, maybe some day more Tolkien's Elvish writings will surface and we'll be able to learn more about the original language he envisioned and then build upon that

    Hi! So I’m trying to learn the language currently through your channel and what ever else I can find in books and Websites; I would love to help out with making this course. It can’t be THAT hard, right?? Also Esperanto is pretty great I must say

    That's amazing, thanks! Hopefully we could get the course on the Incubator page, then you'll be able to contribute however you like 😉 Esperanto is definitely the best example of a constructed language being taught on Duolingo, I like it too (although I haven't really done much)

    As for whether it was on the incubator page or not: it was. I remember seeing Sindarin there as I keep up with all new courses. I even thought about applying to help but because I don't speak Sindarin fluently I eventually decided against it. Somewhere in the last years it was deleted from the incubator page. I thought maybe the volunteers who were creating the course had given up, but I don't know for sure.

    Sindarin is more widely spoken since it's the language of the wood elves. They are the main group of elves in Middle Earth. Quenya is the language of the high elves, and most of them also speak Sindarin.😊

    Can’t anyone be granted like some sort of access to officially develop on the base language with the rules Tolkien started with and expand on it? And then, with a more structured Language it can be more teachable? Just some of my thoughts…

    There are two most common Elvish languages: Quenya and Sindarin. So we need to learn some basic Finnish and Welsh first.

    Dude. The talking over yourself thing makes me not able to understand what the hell you are saying. Having a thick accent doesn't help either. I don't expect any change, because honestly I'm just one guy with a hearing problem and you don't know me. I'm just informing you, I guess.
