Hi johnny wow shop elvis is sold out and it stated it was not out till april 15th (grrrrrrrrrr) now its sold out (hope they get more) i do plan to order the 2 lp FTD raised on rock. Aloha knocked Darkside of the Moon and the the next week Elvis's buddies Led Zeppelin knocked Aloha from #1 with Houses of the Holy. Interesting to look at the album chart at the time and how the albums worked their way up and how they would stay up in the Top 10 for awhile. Pretty good chart at the time. I want to say The Beatles were up there with either the red or blue album. I wonder if anyone mentioned that Houses was the album that knocked Aloha from #1 when Zeppelin met Elvis in '74. Probably not.

@@malwalsh I got this from google, it states "The concert and the rehearsal show from the night before are included here, re-edited from scratch and restored to absolute completeness, along with the complete after-concert insert-songs recording session"

@@bbaird19 If I remember correctly the first issue box set on DVD messed up the introductions from Elvis, they used the intros from the rehearsal by mistake, and the show had to be reissued on a single DVD later! I also believe not all the song takes from after the show we’re videoed!

Hey Johnny! Great review as usual! Thanks for filling in the info gaps, much appreciated! I hope to see you go back doing more videos soon. I will chime in here and give my opinion respectfully. I agree the set looks great and is the best official Aloha release by far IMO. However, I probably won't be picking this up. I have heard some of the audio online and although it sounds great, I think the retail price of $62.95 is significantly inflated (Consider the recent Pot Luck set also by FTD offers 5 CDs for $74.95). At this price (Aloha) I think the companion booklet should offer more information (essay, show background info, etc.) for historical context, more pics from both shows, and the rehearsal show should have been remastered by the same engineer to give the set better sound continuity. Also consider the pre-order of the new Prince 2-CD 1 Bluray set of the Purple Rain/Syracuse show, also distributed by Music Today, with a great presentation/packaging has a retail price of $38.98. Cheers man! Look forward to seeing more vids from you soon!

Sony/Legacy should remaster the rehearsal show for a better sounding quality CD & Vinyl version in 2023 unedited with the closing announcement and without 3 out of the 5 post songs that were recorded after the satellite concert.

For 2023. 3 picture disc albums with a bonus 8 × 10 picture and a reproduced concert ticket would be a great addition ?

Did you notice that it doesn't have the chicken of the sea logo on the cd case like early images of the release showed?

I saw that both websites mentioned have sold out, does anyone have experience with either site restocking. Since this just came out this week, I could not see it being gone for good yet.

I'm sure shop elvis will restock this item, myself I'm going to take Johnny's advice and wait till next year and get the blu ray cd package combined , like the comeback special which I have, I'm just tired of buying things over and over again,

Still waiting on my copy here in Sydney. Does the booklet mention the BS about Aloha being watched by more than one billion people? I'm so sick of hearing that nonsense! They really should have remixed the rehearsal show. The third disc appeals to me. Great to have all the post-show songs in one place. But why do they have all the takes of Blue Hawaii lumped together? Why wasn't the master done as a separate take, as with the other four songs?

I like Mel Tillis but I don't want to talk like him. THE THE?
