I saw elvis august 31st 1976...and rescheduled from april 1977 until june 1st 1977 in the Macon Coliseum. Glad I got see the King!

Gosh. What a wonderfull honour for any town. Just wish he had come to my hometown, WREXHAM, WALES, UK. Its amazing, truly amazing the LOVE people all over the world STILL have for Elvis. Im sure God is looking after him.

I was there at the matinee show in April of 1972, 10 rows back. It was, and remains to this day, the greatest concert I've ever seen in my life. The electricity in the Coliseum was amazing, and for a 16 year old boy from Juliette, Georgia it was almost like the Good Lord had landed on the stage in Macon - all those lights and sequins, the thunder of the band - Elvis will always be in a class of his own, thanks so much for doing this video!

I just missed you, I was in the 11th row of the evening performance with my parents. I agree with your sentiments on seeing and hearing Elvis live! A few months later, our class had an assignment to write about an exciting experience, I wrote about seeing Elvis. I got an "A" on my paper!

@@edwilliams127 It's one of the best highlights of my life. I also saw him in ATL at the Omni, but we were in the nose bleed seats there and he was past his prime by that time, but his voice still was amazing.

I grew up in a country house hold unfortunately till the day Elvis passed I didn’t know who he was, I listened mostly to heavy metal/hard rock I was 12 in 1977 and I would give anything to see Elvis in concert specially that close,thank you for sharing.

I love, love this video. I was at this concert in June 1977 in Macon. I have been to the Coliseum many times since seeing great stars, Kenny Rogers, Conway, Sonny James, Barbara Mandrell, Statler Brothers, Leonard Skinard, Marshall Tucke, Etc. If these walls could talk. I also stayed in the Hilton in Oct 1975, the night before I took my nursing state boards. Thanks for the memories.

I was so excited that Elvis visited my hometown. I was there for these concerts in Macon and they were wonderful. I saw him on 6/1/77, never imagining that in less than 3 months he would be gone. I treasure these Elvis memories! Thanks for a look back !

Very cooooll!!! I wish I could have seen him in Atlanta but I certainly would have drove down to see him. I was only 9 but already a big fan of his,what a blessing for you to have seen him perform.

I was at the August 31st 1976 concert It was a dream come true I still have my ticket stub.

I grew up in Macon and saw Elvis perform at the Coliseum in 1975 and 1977. I was four and six when I saw these concerts - my parents were huge fans and raised me to be one as well. At the 6/1/77 concert, we sat on the seventh row, and when Elvis began to sing “Can’t Help Falling In Love With You,” my dad knew this was his final song. He pulled me atop his shoulders and walked down to the stage. The guard at the stage let my dad go to Elvis’ feet. The King reached got a baby blue scarf, kneeled down, and wrapped my hand around it. I was totally enchanted! I passed my love for Elvis on to my three boys, two of whom are talented musicians. I have searched the web for a video of that concert moment, but none has surfaced. If you or any of your followers have camera footage, you would make this now-older-little-girl’s dream come full circle! Thank you for sharing these incredible visits to Elvis’ concert venues. I have no doubt he is at each and every one! xoxo

Did you find the footage you were looking fer? There is audio of the entire concert available (an audience recording), as well as some video here on YT. Have you seen it?

I was on the 11th row at the Coliseum with my parents in 1972. I also knew Bill Thompson, who was the architect of the Coliseum.

I'm glad you did a video on Macon Ga. I live in Ga., but Macon. I've heard about Elvis playing here . That's true Macon isn't the same as it was when Elvis played here. Glad to know the people who runs the Coliseum was nice to you guys. I wish I could have seen Elvis in concert. Too bad they tore down the Omni in Atlanta and built the Philips Arena in it's place. That would be have been cool to see where he enter the Omni and where they left . Cute doggy..!!

Applauses for you Jay and son!!! A pity that the Macon Hilton is set vacant. For seconds the front hardly appears in "Elvis on Tour" and the scene of him walking inside this hotel with his people and the girl hugging him is my favourite one of the movie (so intimate!!!) Fortunately the arena looks great. Love the pic of Elvis in1975 compared to the pic you took showing us the exact place. Amazing job guys!!!!! Congratulations!!!!!!!!!

Another great video. Always wondered about the photo and how anyone could let a "King" jump down off a loading dock littered with garbage...all the while holding a glass of water. Taken before the concert, so likely at the hotel. Seems odd.

Thanks for these memories!! I saw Elvis twice in Macon in 1972 and 1977. Back then I remember everything in the Macon Coliseum being red. All the walls were red. In the movie Elvis On Tour on one of the scenes when Elvis is walking through the hall and then waiting to go on stage, the red walls were Macon. Thanks again and look forward to more!

Great video!!! I just discovered your channel today and am having a great time watching your Elvis videos!!! One suggestion I have is it would be great if you identified the non-Elvis people in the photos you show. For instance, at 1:33 there is a picture of a woman in a green outfit who I think is Ginger Alden, but I never realized she was so tall. Joe Esposito and Sam Phillips are the other two people in the pic.

Ginger was 5' 9" barefooted. With heels she was close to 6 ft. I believe she was the tallest woman Elvis dated.
