AMEN!! I LOVED this song when I was YOUNG, and then I crushed on my high-school sweetheart. Well, low and be held. It was his favorite song as well as mine. Well, guess what? We fooled around listening to this awesome song and music. We truly FELL IN LOVE and got married. It was fate. Last night, I heard our song by Elvin Bishop. Again, tonight, and it made me think so strongly of my love, my husband in heaven. I was just awakened again with this music playing I FOOLED AROUND AND FELL IN LOVE by Elvin Bishop. I lost my husband my love in 1996 here it is now, 2024 and I've heard the song Twice in the past 24 hours that tells me he is my angel in heaven and he is sending me a message to remind me we fooled around and fell in love.💜💛🤍😇 now it is okay for me to move on

Elvin knew that. He was kicking it around for a year or more. He brought in Mickey as backing vocalist, when he needed another song for “Struttin’ My Stuff”, the producer suggested Fooled Around, but he could never make it work in his blues singer/guitarist style. He suggested Mickey take a stab at it, because he knew a tenor voice would work well with it. The result was pure magic.

If you are fortunate enough to call yourself a 'baby Boomer" like I was, we grew up listening to the greatest assortment of musical talent that any generation had the privilege to enjoy...and we saw them in person. The list of artist that have earned the title of 'legend' is long and incredible. From Woodstock to the Beatles to the Rolling Stones to Jackson Brown to the Eagles and so, so many more'. Our parents were often referred to as the 'Greatest Generation', well, we damn sure are the luckiest. Our playlist will never grow old or die....who are your favorites?

Golden? More like UNOBTANIUM, nowadays people think Taylor Swift is vocal excellence. Even though Adele or Beth Hart can blow her out of the water. I worked for a radio station in '85 and got to hear Ann Wilson warm up before a Heart show, she shook the walls, concrete, and unplugged!! Her sister Nancy apologized and said Ann was under the weather, lol. I was 12' away and my chair was shaking ffs!! If that was under the weather, I'd be scared to hear her that close when she was on point and one hundred percent.

GREAT vocals by Mickey Thomas, here. Technically perfect, from the standpoint of pitch, tone, timbre, and timing. Furthermore, his ability to manifest the emotions is top-notch. He adds very special textures, colors, and inflections to his intimate phrasing and delivery. This is a true Master Class for singers in any genre.

I had the same impression. Mickey’s performance here is pop perfection. He’s got a great voice and it’s pitch-perfect. As is his body language: he looks like a goddamn movie star. His vocal range is phenomenal, and his phrasing and improvising are so heartfelt, you know he’s not not just going through the motions. Mickey works the audience methodically toward the payoff, that fantastic guitar solo. No wonder these guys were referred to as “the best bar band in the world.”
