This sound reminds me when me and my husband broke up in 1982. One day he was in a taxi and he heard this song playing. He never went where he supposed to go but came to me instead ❤ and he told me that he heard this song and he wants me back. We were together for another 24 years and past away 2 years ago❤❤❤❤❤

Hi Elton , I Lost my Husband 22yrs ago and I Miss Him Every Day Because He Was The Love of My Life ❤️. We went to Malta in 1989 because it was Somewhere He had Always wanted to go and Visit. So I Booked the Holiday as a Surprise and It was A "Memory"that I Treasure. The Hotel had it's own Private Beach and one Night Very Late We Went for a Midnight Stroll. I had a Small Cassette Player in my bag and we Layed on the Beach ⛱️ listening to the Music and You came on Singing "Sacrifice" and we "Made Love" while it was Playing.So every time I Listen To The Song, it Takes Me Back To That Wonderful Night in ", Malta"❤❤❤❤

As far as I remember, I heard this song for the first time around 1996. When I was 16 years old. I first loved the tune, sound,voice and music of this song. But as I got older, I realised the deeper meaning of the song. This is one of the sweetest songs I have ever heard. Even if 26 years have passed since the first time I heard it, I can still enjoy it as a new song. A father's sacrifice for his daughter and family brings tears to my eyes. May this song be a tribute to the beloved father's of this world

My Understanding atleast how I feel when listening to this the girl he loved and was wanting to marry never ended up being his wife in the end because lifes troubles amd problems hit him hard. But he always remembers her and his heart still hurts so bad decades later .

Never been a huge Elton John. But this is definitely his best composition.

21 December 2022, I love this son, I feel like my life is slowly going away but when I listen to this song it gives me a lot of peace, and strength at the same time, beautiful lyrics and melody. I have a kidney transplant and I am battling cancer right now, I never give up but if I die I don't give up cancer just beat me.
