Elton John
The 1986 "Ice On Fire" USA Tour
Complete Isolated Instrumental Tracks
Source: Soundboard from The Universal Amphitheatre in Los Angeles, CA on October 11, 1986
Here's something I hope will be unique and enjoyable for Elton fans, especially those who like to study the different bands and band members through the years.
Elton's 1986/1986 band he put together for his "Ice On Fire" & "Tour De Force" tours are widely regarded as one of his best, if not the absolute best bands he's ever had. One of his biggest bands to date, it included a brass section provided by the Onward International Horns, three backing vocalists, and a percussionist in addition to the usual pieces. Together this band produced some of the most powerful, unique, and exciting versions of these songs we've heard countless times. Songs that he's done at every show for years, "Rocket Man", "Philadelphia Freedom", "Levon", "Bennie and the Jets", "I'm Still Standing", and so on, arguably have their greatest arrangements here and never sounded as good before, or after this band.
Presented here are soundboard tracks from one of their performances at the Universal Amphitheatre in October 1986, but run through an AI software that tries to remove the main vocals from the songs to create instrumentals, and most of the time does so with amazing success.
This now allows us to hear even more clearly the unique sound, the sheer excitement, and the unrivaled excellence this band possessed. A band that has yet to be bested.
Enjoy these tracks!
THE BAND:

I always hold an opinion that Elton had one of his best band in 1985/1986.They did very great in playing these songs. But in the meanwhile, Elton had his worst throat in 1986.These trucks show us a new way to listen these wonderful music.Well done!!!

The 86 version of candle in the wind, like the famous live MSO Sydney performance (IMO the finest ever recorded), even without the lyrics still pulls every heart string and makes every hair stand on end.. just breathtakingly, heartbreakingly beautiful.

Fantastic job! Can you do this with either an Elton + Ray Cooper or Farewell Yellow Brick Road show?
