He needs to have a profitable well run company with products and or services currently and foreseeable future in demand, preferably with a strong competitive advantage/moat. look at what he achieved with basically no means. Now tesla has several factories up and running and tremendous cash reserves. They cant build charging stations fast enough to serve it´s customer base. Alone this charging infrastructure is tesla´s moat, you cant copy that so easily

I have a thought that China does not want Tesla expansion in India. This strategy by Musk has worked and approved FSD may sink the deal in India. The slower ramp of giga Mexico and potential drop of factory in India may be the trade for FSD approval in China.
