you are behind with a lot of the information: I am not sure how much power the motors can provide in the future but, for now, the things are straight forward. There are 2 variants of the car: US version, which provides for now 510 hp combined, and the other version manufactured in China which is shipped everywhere else which has a total power output of 460 hp. The only difference between these 2 is the battery pack, which has different supplier (the one in the US has a little bit more energy storage than the other version from china, but this is not what is limiting the power output, but rather the cells). So the limiting factor here is the battery power output. That's it. Nothing else, there is no mystery behind it, nothing to uncover. Only information that I hope we will get, what the actual real world accelerations are for 0-60, 0-120 and quarter mile.

FFS - please - you're discussing the mass not the variable weight... Are you a Liberian yet to be educated in the ISO system?

Hey guys...if you think that is good..ok..but..what if it had unlimited range and no charging..wouldn't that be better..ever hear of a Fuelless turbine...a prototype worked...ran itself..now that's innovation..a car tat needs no fuel .no charging..now that is innovation and that would be a trillion dollar company..when will Elon get it right..anybody home..hello

The biggest issue I see is there's NO Tesla option for the average person. They promised an affordable version for the average person, and they're still not even close. I'm losing hope and faith!! If you really want to make a difference in the world and dramatically decrease carbon emissions, then mass produce an affordable vehicle for the most number of people. As of right this moment, Elon and Tesla are catering to the upper eshelon of the popularion.

Tesla will make do their promise. They are doing things in the right order. In the meantime, there is a huge used market with plenty of affordable models that don’t look much different from the new offerings.

I disagree. A base model 3 is around $30k after incentives, which is fully $15k less than the average cost of a car in the US. Additionally, the cost or operating this vehicle is much less than the cost of operating a $30k IC vehicle. Cheaper is always better, but I don't see price as being the limiting factor here. As for Tesla catering to the upper echelon, they have been consistently lowering prices and are poised to release an even cheaper car on 8/8.

I'm not trying to offend anyone, but apparently, you all have a VERY different viewpoint of what is affordable for the average person. I can tell you that 25k is not affordable to me or many of the people who I know.

Well if you buy used you can surely find most right around $20k. One thing you have to understand if they are still working on driving down the cost to build it which they are doing as well as reduce battery cost and lower supply chain cost. It takes time. It’s not like they can do it in their own.
