The funny part is his movies, with liberties taken by the directors, are usually improvements over his books they’re based on. And, ironically, he usually doesn't like them. Hates Kubrick's "The Shining" & outright had his name removed from "The Lawnmower Man".

I read the book. Yes, Stephen was accustomed to exploring the darkness within. You are referring to the bond the main characters made in the book. Do you remember being 12, having your first fantasies? Of course, fantasies are all that comes of it, plus your mom noticing that the bottle of hand lotion ends up on the shopping list more often. Most of King's books explore those places we would prefer not to examine in public. Like Stephen King once said, "Writing should be done in private, and wash your hands when you're done". I was 13 when I read IT. If you don't squirm, ask for a refund. He sold books because he scared the crap out of us, using our own imagination to do it. Beware the creature within, for it is the true monster that lies under our beds.

King's truck accident turned his brain to mush. You can tell in his writing, as well. I was a BIG fan all through my youth, I've read close to 40 of his books. His writing was just not the same after his accident. Now he's basically Joy Behar in a man's body. I skip all his books now, unfortunately. He really was quite good years ago.

The loss of relevance really shows up with King. His compass was shatered in that horrific crash. I have a rule, don't drink and text. So many, when feeling hate, will 'X'! It's a small-minded thing. If one want to embrace small-mindedness just watch the view, or all major news outlets!
