Jeff Lynne was a GENIUS who did things with classical instruments and progressive Rock NO ONE ELSE EVER did. Rosie Vela compliments his songs PERFECTLY!! Long LIVE JEFF LYNNE & ELO. I'm 64 and I listen to them still...every week.
showed this to my 10 yr old grandson and his face was a picture! He kept on about it so I bought him a guitar for Xmas. I told him " be a quarter as good and you will have made it" Time will tell

Many have tried to sing Chuck Berry Classics. And Many have failed but this is one of the few that actually improves on the original version! Credit goes to Jeff Lynne! Roll Over Beethoven! Rocking in two by twos!

ELO does the best version of this song I have heard.
Jeff definitely has one of the best voices in rock n roll. He's overlooked because people often don't appreciate the best until it's gone. That voice is unique and instantly recognised. He rocks! And that guitar playing is fab!
They don't make 'em like that anymore. Utterly BRILLIANT
Bless all that love E.LO.. fantastic
Quelle ambiance ça réveille avec Richard et jeff et tout ses musiciens quel régale
Saw ELO perform this song at the Long Beach Arena sometime in the early 70s. One of the most exciting performances I’ve ever seen.
I listen to Jeff and ELO as it gets me out of bed and in a good mood as I have depression and anxiety badly and it’s hard to do. Thank you Jeff and ELO.

You're not alone Debra. I've had depression in varying degrees all my life and had every "treatment" from "raw" ECT in a straightjacket to hypnosis. Music has and continues to help me more than ANYTHING. Keep listening Debra , you will "get there ". God bless you and good luck. Sending you all my love, from a fellow sufferer.❤.
Remember this from when I was a kid, loved it. First ELO song I remember hearing. 👏👏😊❤️👍🏼
This song was not fully realized until ELO did their incredible dynamic and exciting arrangement of it.
Unbelievable old school guitar and piano. Jeff Lynne is soooo talented.
There is no sound on Earth like Jeff Lynne getting down with his guitar and this song.....pick a decade, any decade.....
Outstanding, why. Voice, what an arrangement, what great musicians and the great smile on his back up singer just makes me happy. Never stop!
Cпасибо, Джеф! Воэратился в 70-тые, когда всё было чистым и искренним...
Best cover EVER! Captures the spirit of the original in style!
Одне з самих найяскравiшiх виконань цьоi пiсенки!!!!! БРАВО!!!
Doesn't get any better than this!! ELO is Fantastic.
That Chuck Berry riff is one of the greatest pieces of rock music ever devised.
Probably the only cover version of a song that I ever thought was better than the original. Awesome Jeff, you were my idol in the 1970s. But all credit to Chuck Berry for an awesome tune and lyrics.

I want to go back in time to show this to people in Beethoven’s era and see how they react
Arguably the best version. This was an adrenaline rusher. Wooooo!
Whether it's Chuck, The Beatles, or ELO this song is so great it sounds magnificent no matter how it's played...
Absolutely perfect guitar work. Richard Tandy also sounds unbelievable on that piano.

I loved most of ELO's songs , they were huge, and comprised of very gifted musicians...
This world was blessed when God brought Jeff Lynne into it. :) What an amazing musician! :)
This has got to be the BEST live performance of "Roll Over Beethoven" - EVER. It's so damn tight and zappin' in the groove. Jeff's lead vocals and guitar riffs suck the breath out of me. Pardon, while I reach down on the floor and pick up my jaw !
Jeff and Richard Tandy sound like New Orleans musicians. Great sounds. Great performance.
Wow. I loved this. Listened to it over and over. Brilliant. I see there are 77 people who gave it the thumbs down. WTF did they expect to hear FFS? Unbelievable.
Out of this world......................music doesn't get better than this
His telecaster sounds great! fantastic version of a classic.
They're just showin' you how it's done son !! Outstanding talented band ,Thanks for the posting!!

Utter genius, he and many others influenced me to play the guitar and the piano, bass and drums and obviously the guitar 🎸 I'd also like to add that it doesn't make a difference in what year you were born, if you've got good taste they you have good taste. The golden oldies are the fucking best 👌
Love the piano playing by Richard Tandy. I am kinda surprised that the piano didn't burst into flames.

Evoco a los Beatles, con esta bella melodía. Años 60s. Love rock and roll.
ELO the best in live..
Outfuckingstanding. Jeff Lynne is one of the most underrated musicians in the world. He's worked with and produced the Beatles, Dylan, Harrison, Roy Orbison you name it. perfect engineer, perfection in musical recording itself. master craftsman
thank you, yourself Mr. Lynne. I've been castrated these 35 years for being a fan of EL0, and for certain this is the most listenable rock song youv'e ever done live. Maybe it will take another 35 years for all the tone deaf rock fans to adapt to real genius-- but you and Mr Wilson have been keeping my heart alive
Thanks for writing this song Chuck, but elo took it to a whole other level. This is my favorite version.
One of the best guitar pickers of all time. Thank God they got into The Rock And Roll Hall of Fame.
Super version d' ELO !!! I love it !

He would no doubt be happy they're playing his stuff. BUT.... notice how tame the audience is. That's not how it was back in the day. Things were wild then.
That Telecaster needed a cigarette after that.
Every time I try to sing along with a song I reminded of what a mouthful these words are
Now THIS is Rock 'N Roll! Take it home baby. The days of my youth. Play that "geetar" man. Long live Chuck Berry.
Are you kidding me?! lol Love this man and his band of great talent~
Richard Tandy on keyboards/piano, Jeff's guitar, amazing vocals....love the Beatles version...but this one is just a notch better....love ELO!!!

I think you might be confused. You speak of talent and there is sure as hell not any talent any longer.Saw P MC.The band took a break and it was Paul by himself. He said to us if you can handle it i can.Give this bullshit what is music, give them an acoustic guitar and push them out on stage. They wouldn't know whether to go shit or go blind. Two people that i think could make a record by themselves is Jeff Lynne and Todd Rundgren.Don Mac said it best,The day the music died.
