I think one of the reasons why he didn't talk to Olivia for all those years when he left is because he loved her. Not just as a partner and friend but romantically, but he had his wife and family to contend with. I believe he loved Kathy but had she not gotten pregnant I'm not sure they would have gotten back together. It was a choice. His wife and kids or Olivia.

No, I think he left b/c he shot Jenna who could have been the age of one of his kids, it rocked him and now that he's returned, they "gave reasons" why he left. If CM never decided to come back, they would have left it at that. Now, they are coming up with a reason why and her justified anger at him. We don't know yet what direction they are planning on going with his departure and his feelings for her, but there plenty of opportunities for him to send her a "letter". They are scrambling with this story & it will be interesting where it goes, but in the OC universe, he did not leave b/c of her.

I am just so ready for Liv to have her man EL!! It’s time. Elliot loved Liv back then, he loves her now. But he had duties and responsibilities as a father and a husband. He loved Kathy too, truly and deeply. She was the mother of his kids, his first love. But Liv is the love of his life, they connect on a level that he never got to with Kathy or anyone else. When he left, he couldn’t face her because he knew if he did he wouldn’t be able to leave her, he wouldn’t be able to continue just being her partner. There was always that thin line with them. So he ran. And if William Lewis would have happened when EL was there, he wouldn’t have got his hands on Liv as many times as he did. Because El would have handled him after the first time, period. I think if it wasn’t for two things Liv would have already gone full force with El since he’s been back. The 1st is her high rank, she’s a captain now and she had to protect her team and her rank. And #2 The most important, Noah. She can’t have him around Noah with all his wildness right now. Once El gets his head clear and gets calmer, then and only then can they start their love story. Come one El get it together!! LoL

Excelente serie.

Elliot broke Olivia's heart. She has work to mend it. Right now he needs to mourn, and they need to learn how to communicate and be close to one eachother again. They need time. I don't doubt they love each other.

I loved this I’m so happy stabler is back in action and Olivia and Elliott buried the hatchet on some stuff I feel bad that Kathy died but maybe it will open up Olivia and Elliott to at some point to get together and really have a chance to really fall in love

A lot bothered me about his leaving. 1st he won't return her phone calls and then Cragen tells her he put in his papers and she has a quick cry. It's not as if he left town the day after the shooting and she could have driven his house. Then Cragen tells her to pack up his desk, so either he knew Elliot where Elliot was or left for his walkabout or sent them to one of his kids or they are collecting dust somewhere in storage. When she went UC for the Feds, they automatically turned her phone off

yeah I think this wasn't the best "ending" for everyone. That's why I'm so happy he#s back and hope the writing is better this time

When she was UC, they had to cover every trace of her. As if she never never existed before.

@@claudinefaureclaudinefaure2313 yes, but when she was UC her phones were disconnected and the calls couldn't connect. When he left, he didn't just go away or immediately pack up and leave town.He just wouldn't return her calls. At some point was when he left to do a "walk-about", but she could have tried(but the writers didn't) if she really cared to she could have found his kids. They would have been in college and the only one who went w/ K/O was Eli

@@sarahswomley2580 maybe she tried and could not reach him. I remember a scene when Fin mets Olivia in a café/restaurant. He asked her about getting something...I do not remember the full scene. Then Olivia out of the justice court, holding her cell phone and looking sad and worried. She tried but she was busy investigating again and again.

@@claudinefaure4897 I remember that scene, but the weird one was when she went undercover and they turned off all her phones, etc. Plus she knew where he lived, it was just poor writing

Did you see what happened the last time he was on SUV if he had of comeback to work with them he would of been fired before he would of walked through that door. Remember the old Eliot cameback and Olivia's boss was about to kick him out

I saw all episodes of svu so when stabler left I didn't like it at al but he is not back, yes he saw Olivia again and they can cross over but I don't think they get together.

@@Marylsa you don't know that, actually to Chrispher that plays Eliot Stabler says that it could be a possibility that it could happen so you just don't know that. I think that it would of made more sense they can't stay friends forever he's not married to Kathy anymore she's dead. So I don't see why wouldn't Eliot and Olivia shouldn't get together romantically then.

Acho que ela nao vai ficar com ninguém. Nao é mais uma adolescente. É u as mulher madura. Duvido que fiquem juntos.

Que gran decepción, estaba super emocionada porque dijeron que Elliots regresaba a la serie, pero resultó una gran farsa, porque realmente no volvió a la serie, volver es que integraría de nuevo el equipo UVE. Dejé de ver la serie desde que ya no salió él, se ha tornado aburrida sin él. Ese fiscal tampoco es bueno, de policía a fiscal noooo. Barba debe volver como fiscal, le queda el papel como anillo al dado. Es horrible la forma en que sacan a los mejores personajes de la serie. Al igual que hicieron con Antonio y Alvin de Chicago PD.

Nothing personal, I would have been happy for stabler to stay away. I'm not watching this law and order.
