I am glad there are gymnasts who have the maturity and courage to speak about supporting athletes and putting their health and safety first, Ellie is one of them, I hope her words will be heard.

If Ellie is not too burned out from Gymnastics when she retires I can see her taking lead with Canadian Gymnastics in the future

Not if she has no support. I was a national team member for Canada. I remember the homophobia when I competed, my formal complaints being ignored, the sexual abuse. The abuse from the physiotherapist. Ellie knows what’s up

No politics, no Trudeau, no hindsight of intrigue. Just well spoken and wise. Gosh...she's a lady...and an amazing gymnast. Her uneven bar routine was out of this world, but things in the finals turned out different. She took it like a grand lady and takes it home. Superb...😘

probably because the TF and AA finals were held during the week, in order to have more people come in/watch...but I agree it must be extremely hard for the gymnasts to have virtually no recovery time between finals..

I suspect it’s to get the arena seats filled for the finals. Start the finals after people finish school/work. They did the same in Liverpool last year.

Ellie! I support you ❤ Thank you for all your hard work and for speaking so well to such challenging issues. I used to watch Gymnastics with my grandmother sometimes - mostly summer olympics would some times line up with our semi-annual visit. She would be so proud to be watching you compete and of how you speak for the athletes and about the sport as well. I hope your career after competition is one that is deeply fulfilling and rewarding, but until then - keep reppin’! 🇨🇦 Congrats on competing across all apparatuses in a final now!

Wake up Canada, Ellie Black can go anywhere she wants to go, so to make it plain and simple she really doesn't need you guys and please don't forget that she made history already{Oksana Chusovitina] a small example. She can go anywhere. Canadian gymnastics would be nothing without Ellie Black, and Canadian gymnastics need to shut the hell up a listen to hear. If Ellie came to the United States she would have so many opportunities and her gymnastics is more cleaner now but still very strong.

I really dont understand why Canadian gymnasts cant be funded and sponsored the way other countries are. I have always understood that they are not allowed sponsorships. It puts them at a huge disadvantage because they have to work to pay bills and support themselves on top of training. I could be wrong in that but I remember hearing that before.

For the same reason why being a gymnast in the US costs a lot of money to parents while it doesn’t cost that much in other countries: DIFFERENT COUNTRIES, different rules, different laws, different priorities

Here's an idea. Why don't you find a financial partner and manage the largest gym in Canada. Then you get to run, organise and support whatever programs for athletes you want. It'd be a great way to network, make change and influence the direction gymnastics Canada took. It would be a statement. It's also a safe investment for a friend willing to support the future of your sport and its athletes. It would also be an amazing facility that would get you out of your igloos. Think on it ❤️
