I am glad there are gymnasts who have the maturity and courage to speak about supporting athletes and putting their health and safety first, Ellie is one of them, I hope her words will be heard.
If Ellie is not too burned out from Gymnastics when she retires I can see her taking lead with Canadian Gymnastics in the future

Not if she has no support. I was a national team member for Canada. I remember the homophobia when I competed, my formal complaints being ignored, the sexual abuse. The abuse from the physiotherapist. Ellie knows what’s up

Yes, she is... I've never heard her interviewed. She's obviously very mature.

@@MNP208 She is! I following Gymnastics Canada closely, and she is really trying to change how things are handled here. I hope more of her interviews become available, because she really is a great role model and has amazing insight into our countries gymnastics program!

No politics, no Trudeau, no hindsight of intrigue. Just well spoken and wise. Gosh...she's a lady...and an amazing gymnast. Her uneven bar routine was out of this world, but things in the finals turned out different. She took it like a grand lady and takes it home. Superb...😘

@@svenlabots1869 Hopefully she will eventually coach. She reminds me a lot of the Team USA coach Cecile Landi.
What an excellent interview with an excellent ambassador for the sport! I hope a big name like her advocating for the athletes in Canada can help bring about real progress!
She's such a good ambassador for the sport ... Canada is lucky to have her !
Ellie is a HUGE inspiration for all the girls following her. I could not be more proud of how she represents Canada on the world stage!!
Well Said Ellie. Thanks for being a spokesperson for The Canadian Women and promoting Gymnastics ♥️♥️♥️♥️
I LOVE Ellie.. one of the most consistent and exciting gymnasts to watch out there.
I was wondering if someone was going to mention the times. Finishing late and starting early is just stupid. Why did they do that?

It fits in the money machine of hosting the events for people to buy tickets and come back and spend money on things there. White European cis hetero men who make stupid decisions.

Yes I think there should be one day off before the apparattus finals

probably because the TF and AA finals were held during the week, in order to have more people come in/watch...but I agree it must be extremely hard for the gymnasts to have virtually no recovery time between finals..

I suspect it’s to get the arena seats filled for the finals. Start the finals after people finish school/work. They did the same in Liverpool last year.
Ellie! I support you ❤ Thank you for all your hard work and for speaking so well to such challenging issues. I used to watch Gymnastics with my grandmother sometimes - mostly summer olympics would some times line up with our semi-annual visit. She would be so proud to be watching you compete and of how you speak for the athletes and about the sport as well. I hope your career after competition is one that is deeply fulfilling and rewarding, but until then - keep reppin’! 🇨🇦 Congrats on competing across all apparatuses in a final now!
Great worlds for Ellie!! Cant wait to see her shine at the olympics!! Go Ellie GO!
Amazing clarity talking about what happens behind the sport on behalf the athletes
Ellie made it clear and *Canada Gymnastics* should react quickly !
Wake up Canada, Ellie Black can go anywhere she wants to go, so to make it plain and simple she really doesn't need you guys and please don't forget that she made history already{Oksana Chusovitina] a small example. She can go anywhere. Canadian gymnastics would be nothing without Ellie Black, and Canadian gymnastics need to shut the hell up a listen to hear. If Ellie came to the United States she would have so many opportunities and her gymnastics is more cleaner now but still very strong.

She's amazing! Been Canada's best for years now. Won AA silver back in 2017.
Sorry to be behind - but what's the issues at the moment with Gymnastics Canada ?
I really dont understand why Canadian gymnasts cant be funded and sponsored the way other countries are. I have always understood that they are not allowed sponsorships. It puts them at a huge disadvantage because they have to work to pay bills and support themselves on top of training. I could be wrong in that but I remember hearing that before.

For the same reason why being a gymnast in the US costs a lot of money to parents while it doesn’t cost that much in other countries: DIFFERENT COUNTRIES, different rules, different laws, different priorities

Granted I’m not 100% sure on this, but I think you’re wrong… Ellie herself has multiple sponsorships, AFAIK! Or do you mean the Federation are not allowed sponsorships?

Queen Ellie! I hope to see her take a training trip to WCC!

What a beautiful person...
Go Ellie!💕
The problem is that in almost every federation is the same with few exceptions probably.

I agree with the drug testing senario, i get it but damn… lol
Here's an idea. Why don't you find a financial partner and manage the largest gym in Canada. Then you get to run, organise and support whatever programs for athletes you want. It'd be a great way to network, make change and influence the direction gymnastics Canada took. It would be a statement. It's also a safe investment for a friend willing to support the future of your sport and its athletes. It would also be an amazing facility that would get you out of your igloos. Think on it ❤️
