Yeah it was clear he understood and tried to by pass the question by saying that's what we are doing right now. Because 'hooking up' has more than one meaning.

Ellen gives off this impression that she's this nice person, but she always has to put her guests in uncomfortable situations. It's the reason I stopped watching her show years ago.

BTS came from a small company, they started with nothing. Jin who was casted just because of his looks, Suga who left his family and gambled his education just to do what he really wanted to be, Namjoon who was never have been supported by his parents, Jimin who thought himself as ugly and fat, Taehyung whose always been part of BTS but was never shown in any promotions- not until they debut, Hoseok who seemed to always laugh but never felt as an accomplishment to his father, And Jungkook who was very shy and have saved his parents at a young age by auditioning to companies. Remember the days when they were struggling? They even have to sacrifice and work hard just so they could eat? They were squeezing themselves into one small apartment and have to take responsibilities- the reason why they wrote the song 'Move'. The day they almost disband on N.O era because they don't have enough allowance and money to continue, but still they fought for their dreams? There was also a time when Bang PD-nim asked Namjoon if he wanted to have a solo career or sacrifice for BTS. He could have choose to be a solo artist since it was his dreams, but he didn't. He said BTS is BTS and they can make it! Yet, some fans are telling him to 'leave bangtan' it hurts him alot. Remember those times when they have to use their managers as extras to their MV's because they don't have enough budget? They even asked if they can use or borrow their staffs' and managers' cars just to shoot 'I Need U' MV successfully. Those times when Jimin has to starve himself just because people calls him fat and ugly. That one interview where Yoongi said that; it was nice that people listens to their music because Taehyung and Jungkook are good looking. And he thought that it was at least enough. Do you remember when Hoseok was supposed to be the vocalist and Taehyung is the rapper, but he chose to rap instead and learn it because Taehyung wants to be a Vocalist. It was Taehyung's dream and Hoseok loves his dongsaeng that much he would sacrifice. Other fan base were accusing them for plagiarism just because they had the smallest detail whose the same with other big K-pop group which is actually just a coincidence. There was a time when Yoongi packed 300 gifts and letters just to give to their 300 fans who will attend at their mini fan meetings. So why do people judge them so fastly? Did you know that Jimin came all the way to Seoul from Busan just to persuade his dreams? Did you know that Taehyung lived with his grandma gor almost half of his life making him innocent from what else is out there in our world? Did you know that Jungkook set aside his embarrassment just to meet the others expectations? Yes, he is the golden maknae, but he suffers too when he see his hyungs having a hard time, he cries. And there was a time when Jimin caught him crying and the reason is because he misses his family. Jungkook often cry secretly so that his hyungs wouldn't worry. Did you know that Jin auditioned to make his mother proud of him and so that his mom would have something to brag off to those judgmental neighbors they have. He worked hard on his vocals yet people called him talentless. Did you know that Namjoon worked hard just to produce songs yet there was a time when his mom ruined his computer and broke his mike so he could focus on studying? Did you know that Hoseok auditioned because he wanted his father to be proud of him? Because he felt like he was a disappointment? Those rookie days where they only listen to the awardings and be amazed by their seniors. They can't do anything but to watch those idols who receives the awards. The days when they were happy with just 300 views on KZread, mini fangatherings, small numbers of followers, and one Daesang award. They were contented. And now they've reached to the top and became more successful. From 150 fans to 6M and counting, From a small practice room to a bigger one, From cramped dorm with roommates to big dorm with each of them having a room, From one daesang award to more awards and they've even won on BBMAs. BTS never expected this before their fourth year anniversary, they've come so far- so far that the only chance we have to see them is to go to their concertor (NEVER) meet them along the street with 0.01% chance. But really ARMYs! We've came this far fam, let's love them and give them our support till the end! I wanted to thank y'all. I love you fam! I love BTS. Let's stay together until the end. If you believe in what I've said. If you believe in 1! 2! 3! A true ARMY shall spread this.

It’s a general rule you’re not supposed to paint your nails as a server. Not saying she didn’t go over board but it’s literally a rule most establishments have. If Ellen didn’t get her fired, I’m pretty sure it would’ve been brought up by a no one and she would’ve been reprimanded for it if not fired if it wasn’t her first infraction. It is UNSAFE to be handling food with chemicals like formaldehyde and DBP on or Near where you’re touching food, like your nails..? They’re part of an infamous grouping called, “the toxic trio?” Like.🤦🏻‍♀️it’s stated in the FDA Food code. The waitress was going against FDA set regulations on safe food handling. Would you be cool with knowing your waitress may be slowly poisoning you if you tend to enjoy going to the same location for personal reasons? She’s an ass hole, but that doesn’t mean she can’t be right sometimes .

Not supporting Ellen but indeed i think servers and kitchen staff aren't supposed to have chipped hands. what if something goes in the food. imo they shouldve just made them follow the rules well ,its very easy to blame it all on one person. I'm not even suprised. western culture is different from asian. Asians normally do not talk about hook up in public, or even PDA in public is not something I would say is common. South Korea is one of those places where people do not hesitate to talk about hookups in general. In other words, this is a highly developed and modern country. The majority of local people use all the possibilities to get laid without further consequences. Korea is a very modernized country not that different from the US like japan they have no issues talking about hook ups or PDA. Even Japan has places like the Shinjuku Red Light District that is crazier than some stuff in the US almost every culture do or have these things. Bts surely know what hook up means they were just embarrassed because of how many fans they have. They couldn’t even get laid without having some fans talk shit of judge them. RM literally talks about girls pussies in some of his songs he also talked about taking 4 girls virginities in a older song before bts

That's just how she is nosy and never with good questions which are actually about the personality. I used to like elen show for being light hearted but since past few years it's mostly about her practically bullying people on her showm also she never researches on other cultures, she is arrogant that way , else she would have known that would make them uncomfortable and that's visible in every other international guest interview. She should research on the guests , try not making them uncomfortable, just because she is funny doesn't mean everything she does will be funny.

We were raised with similar standards. She seemed sweet and down to earth. But being bullied parhaps has made her into a "mean girl". I don't think she comprehends how dangerous even the allegation is for them and their friends. People hunt idols in Korea and do scary things to get access.She needed to do her homework,or talk to the translator to get perspective on a culture she is tone deaf to.

During the scare jump, Suga never even flinched! Not even at the sight of J Hope flying past him :) He must have nerves of steel! The scare was so random, so out of the blue and unexpected, yet Suga stayed cool. 💜💜💜💜💜💜💜

This is not about any bts member but Mark from nct told Ellen straight up " why do you always ask about that?" well something in these lines. And honestly she is in mine openion rude in general.

I think Ellen is a rude person sometimes she asks rude questions and pranks on people which they don't like.

I'm not Asian but I was very annoyed but then I knew she was as rude as feck. I guess I was just hoping she'd have a bit more self control. I'm glad she's not one our TV screens. One of the rudest American show hosts I've ever had the miss fortune to see. Only watched 3 of her interviews and that was enough for me to know it's was 'American Trash TV'.

I watched the interview like 2 minutes ago and I could see how RM was really upset after Ellen pulled that surprise stunt with the man in the wig.

Ellen didn't know that her question asking Namjoon is he hooking up with any of the Army. She didn't it's a big no no in Korean culture to ask them that. Ellen thought it wasn't a big deal and thought it was okay to ask that dating question to Namjoon. Why she not see she's making her guests uncomfortable? I don't watch the Ellen Show anymore. >:(

The part where Ellen had that man with the wig hide in the table and scare them was so rude, it made me so angry. You could see that when RM got scared, he quickly looked to the others to see if they were okay, then it looked like he got visibly upset. To think RM, Jimin and V have all had death threats in the past. RM's one's where in the USA and their USA Red Bullit concert had to be evacuated and cancelled.

It was pretty clear he understood, if you watched the whole interview and also the sarcasm he used on the second one. His sarcasm is very much in the British tone of doing things. I've noticed that before.

Looking back at this point, it's pretty apparent that Ellen is quite jealous of her guests and has been bullying them on her show all along. Kudos to BTS who handled it well!

I think its rather rude of her to do that, she can't ask them about their private life so easily like that.

It's very important to understand and respect other cultures before asking questions. I like the way the model interviewed BTS. She was respectful and asked respectful questions, not making them or she uncomfortable.

What ever it is no one has any right to get into their personal lives

I used to be an Ellen fan, but seeing this,.. well.. I GIVE my full support for BTS ❤️

The first incident could be considered ethnocentric ignorance. The second is just bullying her guest. Glad they unfollowed her and there's no more The Ellen Show.

Lol the Ellen Show wasn't canceled because of she treats her guests. It was canceled amid the work place allegations. How she treats her guests and line of questioning isn't taboo in America.

BTS is very talented they seem very nice too and they are very handsome I love their music

For the hooked up question I think RM knows what it means but pretend not to because like you said it is an inappropriate question but she insists to make them uncomfortable. I'm really happy that they unfollow her and don't came back again to her show and I feel sorry too for the other artist who had to deal with her roughness.
