This race was in 2017, when Purrier was still in UNH. Flash forward to 2021, Purrier, McGee (the rabbit) and Maclean qualify for Tokyo after finishing 1,2,3 at Olympic trials. .

She really hit the afterburners on the final laps!

One of the best pacing jobs I've seen--stayed over 50% of the race even though she stepped out to the 2nd lane early, stuck with it as long as she could, and stuck around to cheer on the runners.

I like how the rabbit stayed trackside to cheer the competitors.

She’s an incredibly versatile runner. She ranges from 1500 up to 5k and is awesome in them all.

she has that range because she has muscle and with muscle comes body fat which we all need for energy. i did Body Building in the 80's and worked Construction. I was dieting for my first contest, 10% bodyfat and got so dizzy at work i had to go to BK and grab 2 sausage croissants and a pepsi.

When the rabbit is close to perfect with the pace a record can be very possible.

I read the title and was like "that's not that fast" then I was like "WAIT! 😐" That's faster than me props to her.

Elinor Purrier had first set the American one mile indoor record, then I believe this 3K record and then the 2 mile American indoor record. However she’s training herself it sure is working. She seems so calm and happy. I guess it’s simply her good natured way. Running a farm may be more difficult than running but I think she loves each just as much. Be great be good and be lucky lol

This race is from her college days in 2017. She turned pro in 2018 and has greatly improved her fitness and times since. The date under the caption is simply when it was posted to KZread - always confusing. They are posting more of her earlier races because she is in such demand now. Elle's story and humble, pleasant personality are infectious - she is so easy to root for. Looking forward to see her in the trials and Olympics, God willing. Watch her 2019 5th Ave Mile race with Jenny Simpson - a mark of things to come...

For Ellie, 8:55 it's not fast at all. She waited to late in the race to start seriously running.

This video and another of this race I am bummed I cannot watch.......it bothers my eyes greatly Like the filming is shaky. Maybe it's the angle of the filming. I've watched many other races tonight and none other made me feel dizzy-ish :(
