UIUgghhh memories.... I lived 6 houses down from the fire hall. Our deal was whoever got to the hall 1st, drove. Unless re-directed for whatever reason. I always took my time, depending on the type of call, and how I felt. And of course, the guys knew that. I could have driven to EVERY call we had. And we had our cowboys who never drove, always wanted to get down and dirty. I didn't care, I was simply happy to be on the job, so whatever. Anyways, when you drive, once you've arrived, you may have a few things to do, but for the most part, our job was done !!! It was stare-at-the-ladies time !! If it was a middle-of-the-night call, like 3am, I'd radio in that we acknowledged the call, and we were awaiting personnel, so fire dispatch didn't have to keep toning out. Advice : If a call comes in, and you're already at the hall, don't hurry. Time may feel like it went by, and it was time to go, but don't. A friend of mine and I thought we waited long enough, so the 2 of us left. It was a MVA. In hindsight, how dumb was that !!!! What were 2 firefighters going to do at a MVA ? You need 1 at the truck, 1 on a handline, and 2 doing rescue/medical, minimum !!!! Just take a few breathes boys. Stay low and let it blow !!!!

Aaron Michael I can now relate to this a lot actually. I was still VERY young in this video. 15 maybe? Anyway, now that I’ve been around it more, it’s a lot more easier to comprehend and stuff just starts to come natural now. Live and learn!

Dillon Davis Yeah, we didn't think we would have enough people. Where that was, we were going to have to shuttle a lot of water if it would of been a fire. That's why we asked for a tanker.

Yet another Department that still activates the loud, obnoxious fire siren (even at night). It’s 2021, there’s no valid reason to still activate an antiquated, obnoxious form of notification. If a member lives to far away that their pager doesn’t activate, then they’re certainly not going to hear that siren so why, why continue to rudely interrupt the lives of everyone in town ?
