This whole "you've known me since I was a girl, I was barely eighteen" is such an obvious threat. "This is how I'm going to spin the narrative, this is why you will be the one everyone would blame".

She has really mastered that PR language. Even in this emotional scene, her words are still so corporate sounding. "I know how hard it's going to be to transition, transition out of the company" is something that a Human Resources person would say to an employee they are letting go, not to a person whose been so close to you for all these years

He had a pretty stupid life, was already stably wealthy and had so many chances out before this stage. If you see photos of the real him, you can only guess he just wanted sex. Elizabeth was a high profile escort who just happened to be really smart. But it's pretty tragic to see Elizabeth got the lighter sentence, it's incredibly unfair. The moral of the story is stay the fuck away from toxic people, they have jedi mind tricks, and unless you've made the mental sacrifices needed to reach that level of soullessness, you're helpless.

I thought maybe she was concerned he was wired, like when she tries to put her hand on him while talking about getting him a lawyer -- as if she's trying to feel for a wire. But it's even more evil when it's just her turning on him, like flipping a light switch.

I wonder what Elizabeth and Sunny really said behind closed doors. I'm curious about that :-). But from my perspective, Sunny must be trying to abandon a sinking ship and Elizabeth manipulated him into going down with her until she finally threw him overboard.

You confuse the character and real person it was based on. Real person got involved with a girl much younger than him and left his wife for her, so at the very least he was a creep. He was also a fraud and con artist just like her. Don't romanticize their relationship, they both used each other. Also, you can't really say what she needed, you don't actually know the real her. If she's trully a sociopath or narcissist, she didn't need anything or anyone. Real Sunny does not deserve your sadeness.
