    My grandfather turned 100 this year. He landed on Omaha beach on June 6 DDay he said he didn’t die that day as he didn’t give up. He was shot and instead of falling on the beach he continued up the beach he said “I didn’t give up as the fate of my friends and the free world was at stake”

    There's one guy who was a wise person, told me this, and i still remember forever. "Why should you give up when we made this so far, why should you back down when the obstacles can be climbed over, it was about survival, and we are grasping any bit of our strength and hope to see another day in our life, no matter who and where, we are always fighting everyday, to see the tomorrow daylight."

    Not alot of good came from my father, he was a narcisist, who shot himself and left me, my mom and brother alone, broke and in depth. The Ironic part is that exactly he told me one of the realest things I've ever heard: "A man is a man until he quits. A real man does not quit" He wasn't a real man, but I became one because of that. The best lessons come from the worst hardships friends, Do Not Quit.

    Mental toughness is not only in the physical, but intellectual as well. Sustaining continuous hardship and forging through for years and decades of school to arrive at a doctoral degree, becoming the best in the nation to serve your country by developing technology used by these special forces guys takes heart and grit at well. True I will not take a bullet like these guys, but that's not my contribution, I am much more valuable elsewhere. And when these guys use our technology so they won't have to take a bullet, that contribution is just as significant if not more.

  • @alexanderstenmark8838

    @alexanderstenmark8838

    Mental toughness is psychological indeed. Thing is, they may not be the strongest or toughest in the world, but they're robust, do not give up, and are always there when needed. They mold their bodies and minds to not cave in under any stress or fatigue, however severe it may be. They learn to push their body to the limits. That's why you can call them the strongest, because even if they weren't born talented, they achieved heights that almost no man can reach, and usually, they do this just as much for themselves as others. But, the only reason the strongest can fight, is because there are countless others who do their jobs and tasks, enabling the strongest individuals to carry out their jobs. Scientists, software developers, engineers, designers, chefs and nurses to name a few. All of them enable such individuals to continue.

    Never back down, always keep fighting, when you’re knocked to the ground, get up. Damn near every time you get knocked down you will get back up because of motivation to fight for what your life and others depend on, whether in the field or back home, never let others take you down, do not succumb to their insecurities, as you may find that they are what make you stronger. Start off, every day, doing something, something meaningful, work out, make your bed, go for a run and take a shower after. It doesn’t matter what you feel like that day, any day of your life, but get up and do something rather than laying down all day or sleeping longer.

(1) how you will feel after you've accomplished your goal, (2) plan to quit right after you've completed the task, and I guarantee you - you will feel both as you cross the finish line. However, since you've crossed the finish line, your ego will eventually accept success than quitting, and you will never feel so proud to keep pushing forward. And you won't quit. If I'm wrong tell me" Is what I used to hear when I walked the death march each semester. If I remember correctly rucks and duffles were filled so that when you stepped on the scale, you were slightly past your body weight. Da f*** is what I used to say. Now looking back... it was worth it - every step, drop of sweat, drop of blood, scars & scratches, sun burns. It makes you believe... impossible is nothing.

    The ninth week of training is referred to as “Hell Week.” It is six days of no sleep, constant physical and mental harassment, and one special day at the Mud Flats. The Mud Flats are area between San Diego and Tijuana where the water runs off and creates the Tijuana slues, a swampy patch of terrain where the mud will engulf you. It is on Wednesday of Hell Week that you paddle down to the mud flats and spend the next 15 hours trying to survive the freezing cold mud, the howling wind and the incessant pressure to quit from the instructors. As the sun began to set that Wednesday evening, my training class, having committed some “egregious infraction of the rules” was ordered into the mud. The mud consumed each man till there was nothing visible but our heads. The instructors told us we could leave the mud if only five men would quit - just five men - and we could get out of the oppressive cold. Looking around the mud flat it was apparent that some students were about to give up. It was still over eight hours till the sun came up - eight more hours of bone-chilling cold. The chattering teeth and shivering moans of the trainees were so loud it was hard to hear anything. And then, one voice began to echo through the night, one voice raised in song. The song was terribly out of tune, but sung with great enthusiasm. One voice became two and two became three and before long everyone in the class was singing. We knew that if one man could rise above the misery then others could as well. The instructors threatened us with more time in the mud if we kept up the singingbut the singing persisted. And somehow the mud seemed a little warmer, the wind a little tamer and the dawn not so far away. If I have learned anything in my time traveling the world, it is the power of hope. The power of one person - Washington, Lincoln, King, Mandela and even a young girl from Pakistan, Malala - one person can change the world by giving people hope. So, if you want to change the world, start singing when you're up to your neck in mud. During the land warfare phase of training, the students are flown out to San Clemente Island which lies off the coast of San Diego. The waters off San Clemente are a breeding ground for the great white sharks. To pass SEAL training there are a series of long swims that must be completed. One is the night swim. Before the swim the instructors joyfully brief the trainees on all the species of sharks that inhabit the waters off San Clemente. They assure you, however, that no student has ever been eaten by a shark - at least not recently. But, you are also taught that if a shark begins to circle your position - stand your ground. Do not swim away. Do not act afraid. And if the shark, hungry for a midnight snack, darts towards you - then summon up all your strength and punch him in the snout, and he will turn and swim away. There are a lot of sharks in the world. If you hope to complete the swim you will have to deal with them. So, if you want to change the world, don't back down from the sharks. Finally, in SEAL training there is a bell. A brass bell that hangs in the center of the compound for all the students to see. All you have to do to quit is ring the bell. Ring the bell and you no longer have to wake up at 5 o'clock. Ring the bell and you no longer have to do the freezing cold swims. Ring the bell and you no longer have to do the runs, the obstacle course, the PT - and you no longer have to endure the hardships of training. Just ring the bell to get out If you want to change the world don't ever, ever ring the bell. It will not be easy Start each day with a task completed. Find someone to help you through life. Respect everyone. Know that life is not fair and that you will fail often. But if take you take some risks, step up when the times are toughest, face down the bullies, lift up the downtrodden and never, ever give up - if you do these things, then the next generation and the generations that follow will live in a world far better than the one we have today. And what started here will indeed have changed the world - for the better.

    I thank all that contributed to this Great Nation! Who have answer the call for our people here in America. Our Government tells us to go! When we go. We never know what will happen when we get there. Army, Navy, Air Force Marines and yes even the Coast Guard. When I was out there. It didn’t matter what service you were with. WE WERE ALL FIGHTING FOR THE SAME CAUSE! For our people, our families and friends and our way of life. The simple walk down the street. The choice of food or were you want to live. How many children you can have. Yes these choices that have been given to us. Are taken for granted Daily. Veterans , for the ones that never came home. And for the ones that somehow, miraculously came home beyond all odds. Thank you for your sacrifices. Just for all to know and understand. For those that were involved in combat and to be home today. They had died inside out there to be here today. The presence of a family member who served. Some how they had to do things that no ordinary person could or would do to make it home. We have a new nationality of American today that forget why or how they came to America. Protesting at the USC campus. You’re here in America. You or your parents left your home to be here to offer you a better life than being in Israel, 🇮🇱 or Palestine 🇵🇸. You all enjoy the blanket of freedom out country offers to you and your families. Then protest a war that isn’t apart of what you’re originally here for. Destroying public property and hurting police officers. If you don’t like it in America. Then go home to the country you left. I’m sure both countries will be more than happy to forcibly enlist your services in the fight you all so desperately want to participate in. If you don’t want to go home and fight for your country. Then stop the non sense and be apart of America. You have the choice to participate in your wars at home. But don’t bring that nonsense here.
