Elisabeth Hasselbeck attempts to justify teabagger racism & homophobia

Elisabeth Hasselbeck tried to explain the appalling behavior of the teabaggers who called John Lewis the n-word, Barney Frank the F-word and spit on Emanuel Cleaver, but the ladies of THE VIEW weren't having it. At one point Whoopi told her to just breath.

It's actually supposed to be separation from church and state. I'm a Christian but I am very embarrassed by a lot of these "Christians" who want religion and government to be unanimous. Jesus himself said: "Render unto Caesar that which is Caesar's" so it's actually Biblical to keep church and state separate, that is, until we enter the next life and there'll be only one king! I have no judgment or phobia towards any other race, ethnicity, religion, sexual orientation, gender, Etc I just follow what my convictions are and I want others to know that God loves them once they know that, their life will be bettered

I kiss the ground every day for free healthcare. I have lived in Europe for the past 22 years and enjoyed the fact I will never go broke, because I cannot afford to keep myself healthy. When I'm offered jobs back in the US, I refuse them. That country isn't the place I grew up in anymore. I find it full of hatred and anger, spiteful for those who are underprivileged. It's a disgrace.

james street You're wrong about income tax rates. The US is on par with Canada for most income brackets. The difference is Canadians use more of our tax dollars to help our people Americans use most of their tax dollars on their military so they can maintain dominance in other countries so they can have power over their oil reserves so the one percent can keep getting richer on the backs of the poor. Canada's not perfect, there are lots of problems here too, but nothing like the corruption of the US government and its callous disregard for the poor. You want to know what freedom is? I tell you what it's not; a lifetime of debt because of corrupt corporations that profit on people getting sick. www.investopedia.com/financial-edge/0411/do-canadians-really-pay-more-taxes-than-americans.aspx

Mike Primm I'm all for the ACA but you are wrong about car insurance. You choose to have car insurance when you buy a car and put it on the road. Many people drive around without car insurance and don't have to pay fines because they have not been caught. Comparing car insurance in ACA is ridiculous because you choose to have a car so you are choosing to ensure that car.

The problem with EH is her attitude while making the point. If she could just make the point, calmly, and not spout out what Hannity said the night before with the same tone he presents it, then it can be a civil and healthy debate. She never learned how to debate, she was a Hannity mouth-piece. Hannity himself is nothing but a mouth-piece for Fox, Republicans, and the Koch brothers in the first place either. EH wasn't able to look at all the information and have an educated opinion on any subject, it was all fed to her on Fox the night before.

Why would it be so hard for america to invest in the health of it's people unless these republicans are hoping for mass amounts of people to die from curable and controllable diseases that they can't afford to get assistance with.

    * PRIOR TO the Affordable Health Care Act/ObamaCare, the U.S. had the MOST EXPENSIVE Health Care System in the WORLD. Spending**$8000.00 per capita (& this number was rising!!!) YET the life expectancy in the US (a 1st world nation) was ranked 35. * So despite the fact that the US was paying more for health care (prior to ObamaCare), there were still 34 countries where the citizens were living longer. * 100% access to Health Care for 100% of a nations citizens 100% of the time is a good thing. * I've grown up with Universal Health Care & would never want to live without it. * Nationalizing Health Care in my country has made it both accessible & cost-effective.

Why is it so hard for these women to shut up and let someone finish a single thought... the thoughts are generally crap and pointless, but still. Gossip, slander, ignorance... all vital ingredients that make up the crap cake known as The View. They cancel countless fantastic TV shows but keep this going year after year?

Patients are already suffering, the report said. GPs are told they must seek "approval" for a list of procedures including hysterectomies, removal of "skin lumps and bumps" and tooth extraction. Advising that "it is usually better to wait to see if symptoms resolve themselves", and are considering replacing hospital's emergency departments with an "urgent care center" that will be open only 12 hours a day, cutting the number of hospital referrals and providing GP services in emergency dep.

Tonsil removal operations will no longer be carried out and “non-essential services such as baby massage or cookery classes” will be scrapped. The trust is also warning that patients will have to “wait a little longer for their surgery”. Previously, some people have received tonsillectomies, surgery to relieve snoring and treatment for varicose veins on the NHS. The PCT is now telling GPs that this can’t continue, unless there are clear medical benefits.

NHS is cutting IVF fertility treatment, provided to 40,000 couples a year in the UK. It also plans to reduce the number of ophthalmology appointments it makes for cataract investigation because it says 40% of these are unnecessary and don’t lead to treatment. It’s also tightening the criteria for hip and knee replacements and cataract surgery along with varicose vein and cosmetic surgery and homeopathy.

"The majority of Americans didn't want it passed this way." Except A: the wills of congress =/= the will of the people who elected them (see the 9/11 first responders bill, or the various congress approval ratings) and B. Using the logical fallacy she created, IT STILL WON. "But what about those bribed, bullied, etc." Can she prove that did not occur on the other side as well? Because I remember a lot of people who put provisons into the bill voting against it

You weren't paying attention: there was a 'but' at the end of her disclaimer...and they all knew it. She had the nerve to try to claim that the disparity in the vote were people who were bribed and whose votes were bought, etc. and that IF the 'majority ruled' (her point of view) then the insults and name calling (meaning the homophobia and racism) wouldn't have happened. Basically, she's saying that it was all just 'heat of the moment'. She explains an awful lot away that way.

In Spain, the families of potential donors are permitted to refuse consent. This is the soft opt-out system. AUSTRALIA To improve the level of organ donation, the Australian Government sent a legally valid consent form to every household in the nation in 2005. AUSTRIA It is automatically assumed that every person is an organ donor. The views of families of potential donors are not taken into account. This is an example of the hard opt-out system.
