it's so touching

I am a 67yo man now. When I was just turning 17, I was introduced to a handsome 30yo man who was a friend of my mothers. I could tell the moment our eyes met that he was also gay although my mother had no clue about either of us. I pursued him with all my being. He tried his best to not succumb to my advances as I know he felt that he would be betraying my mother. That started a passionate love affair that lasted for almost two years. I knew he struggled with his sexuality and was very much in the closet to most. I would meet him at his apartment after school and rush home in time for dinner. On weekends, we would spend as much time together as we could. After high school graduation and within weeks of leaving for college, my mother came home in tears one day to tell me that "her friend" had committed suicide. I stood there in disbelief but at the same time hiding my grief and heartbreak as best as I could. Still to this day I feel the sadness of that loss and not being able to tell anyone.

I did, he was my teacher. I have been severly heartbroken during 2 several years and now it's been 4 years and I still think about him daily. Totally screwed me over, but made me stronger at the same time. It was obsessive

The book is obviously more detailed and showed the torment Elio went through because of his feelings for Oliver. My stomach was knotted with pain because of the anguish Elio suffered. I only started enjoying the book when Oliver reciprocated his feelings. This is love in its purest form.

Actors chemistry is UNBELIEVABLE. Literally Timmy was born for role of Elio.

This whole movie to me was like a beautiful dream. As Elio and Oliver's relationship blossomed, I never wanted it to end. The ending was like a dagger to the heart. The acting was nothing short of superb. Timothee is a gorgeous kid.

Timothée is not shallow or ungrateful for his opportunities. The thing that's so refreshing is that not only is he extremely handsome and gorgeous but he is sooo talented and doesnt even know it. And every opportunities he gets, he cherishes it and he is so modest and shy and doesnt even know how talented he is. Some of his movies to watch: call me by your name: ending scene by the fire, the king: his speech, little women:the proposal, miss stevens: his monologue, beautiful boy: the cafe/resteraunt scene

That's why I love this movie. Simply beautiful, and nothing more. Just the power of angelic love, and the deepest point of soul.

This story reminds when when I was 21 and I dated a British guy I met while he was on vacation here in my country, He was 32 by the time. We both knew we had to be careful of falling for each other, guess who fell harder? Me. We dated for a few months and when he left I was so broken, I still haven't been able to love anyone the same way I loved him.

A rapturous, glorious film that demonstrates that true love has absolutely no boundaries.

this movie is one of the most beautifully made movies i’ve ever seen. the love story is so creative and romantic and the love the two had together is so crazy. they were the cutest thing and i can’t wait for the second movie to come out.

I read the novel after watching the movie... Novel adds a lot to the movie.. Whatever is going in elio's mind is so beautiful..... Omg i love this movie sooooo muchhhhhhhh..... I feel so sad for elio.. So saddd

s p o i l e r s ( k i n d a ) i’ve always thought how it is kinda sad at the end when elio is sitting on the couch with his dad after oliver leaves and he says how he hasn’t experienced the same level of love that elio and oliver had, and the way he says it he knows that he won’t ever feel that because he’s with his wife. i thought it was a beautiful moment though to say the least

Over the years I have seen many attempts to portray male love in movies. Usually, the attempts are embarrassing at least, but this film is beautiful and so gentle even though sad. The producers and directors deserve a major award but of course, none will come because of the content (I hope I am wrong). I was very moved and will watch this wonderful and beautiful movie again and again.

I read the novel after watching the movie. The movie is visually pleasing but you should read the novel too, it's beautiful and more in depth. The who point of "call me by your name" lies in the end part which is left out in the movie. The novel really left a deep impression on me. Sometimes I forgot that Elio and Oliver are just fictional characters.
