On this episode of TheFallenState TV, host Jesse Lee Peterson interviews social scientist and San Diego State University Professor of Education Dr. J. Luke Wood. Jesse asks Dr. Wood about the online public course he created called "Black Minds Matter," which Dr. Wood says was inspired by the Black Lives Matter Movement, and includes an interview with Black Lives Matter co-founder Patrisse Cullors. Jesse and Dr. Wood debate and disagree on the real reason why black men and boys in our country are in crisis. Dr. Wood asserts that there is a "war on black men" in our society, and that the system of "whiteness" must be eliminated in order to put things right. Tune in for an explosive and timely discussion!

somastic69 was it just me, or was this guy pushing for segregation? He was whining about black boys have white women for teachers and how that’s a problem because she don’t look like him. Literally the only solution is to have black boys woth black male teachers and black girls with black women teachers. And presumably white boys/girls with white male/female teachers. Wtf???

The hood is not a war zone, the crime that does occur in the hood is due to the drug trade. If you're not involved in drugs you're generally safe. The average person in the hood does what he/she is supposed to do. The hood people you see out in the streets are criminals for the most part, but that's only about 3% of the residents. The rest are at work, school, at home, or asleep. If there is a crime spike it's usually do to a drug turf war, or warring gangs. But the gang violence is low outside of Southern California & Chicago, and Southern California's gang violence has plummeted drastically in the last 20 years.

In the UK, trains are frequent and a mode of transport that covers the whole country. I work on the railway and I notice all the blacks go to a college that offers a low degree of business studies. The students are erratic and loud, they run around and miss trains and scream for the trains to stop. Many don’t have their student discount railcards and complain that it’s injustice …. Many can’t even work out how much 1/3rd discount is. We have a ‘peak’ and. ‘Off peak’ and I spend my life explaining why they were charged and why ticket prices are higher during ‘commuting times’ They don’t say hello, many are African and they grunt ‘urgh’ instead of pardon. They all kiss their teeth and overall childish. I never used to have an opinion on black people but as you can tell, I get a daily experience and interaction and very few are calm natured, listen and don’t have a victim mentality.

"Eliminate Whiteness" He says this while wearing a suit jacket, which itself is a derivitave of military uniform uses by armies with European heritage. I really want someone to define what "Whiteness" really is and how it is bad. Is whiteness learning self control, abstaining from drugs, and abstaining from premarital sex? Because tons of white people I know don't do that. When anyone says they want to eliminate whiteness, it's just code for lowering white people's economic and social status and raising their own. Honestly if these people would come out and say that then we can just have our civil war and be done with it, but they sit back and act like they don't hate white people and any successful person outside of their race. The problem with this mindset is illustrated by this hypothetical: If whites are all destroyed, do you think our current set of minorities will just live happily ever after? Next they will preach about Asian privilege and make all of them give up their socioeconomic status. Eventually it will just get down to one race, and then they'll attack eachother for smaller and smaller differences. This is the mindset of tribalism.

As a black man, the civil rights movement was supposed to be a miracle success story for our country's racial problem and it was,but partiality. The movement produced a very different type of white people, and a very different type of black people. It was like white people responded more positively to MLK than our people did.Which could be the reason why our country is blessed with so many non racist white people. But black people are too blind to recgonize this. So why did so many black people come out of the civil rights movement an entirely different type of people ? The answer is a mixed multitude of anti MLK violent black revelutionaries who saturated our black communities with violent anti white racist propaganda, which poisoned the minds of many black people and established a culture based on hatred and violence against white people over the peace and non violence views of MLK. And this is how this teacher can comfortably give such a racist presentation against white people. And this is also why black people who have been seriously indoctrinated with violent anti white racist propaganda shouldn't be allowed to hold positions of influence. This is dangerous stuff.

There is a generation of young black people who can't face their own shortcomings and blame others. We all have the ability to overcome our genetics and be better people; whether we do that or not is no one's fault but our own. There are many people of all races on the bottom of the economic ladder; likewise there are many people of all races on the top. Where we all decide to end up is in no one's hands but our own.

Anthony Stanton You're on point! You are very rational and clear thinking. What you had said is true about anti-MLK revolutionaries and is sad to see because revolutionaries always had made problems in their countries. As a Russian individual, back home we had same exact radicals who sat there and cried all day about how much they were had by the system, which led to the October revolution. This is dangerous. Fyodor Dostoyevsky in his novel "The Possessed" had discussed this phenomenon of groups of individuals being possessed with the idea of social justice, which he had predicted what will happen to Russia 40 years before it happened. You have some amazing points and I agree with the person in the comments that had mentioned making some videos of your own

Funny, I went to Chicago public schools. My school was not the worst public school in Chicago. Im white, and I must say that brother here would not have lasted more then a week. Once a clean cut mamas boy intelligent kind but obese brother came to our school. He left in tears in a week. From brothers putting thumb tacks on his seat. To bringing in a taser to the 7th grade classroom and tasing him in the back. Because he was showing his but crack in the seat under his Cosby sweater. Im not making fun of him. I actually felt bad for the kid. After they snatch his gold chain off his neck he transferred out. This all happened in front of the white teacher. That was terrified of the gang bangers . Not long before that that beat the living crap out of the gym teacher. Actually one bigger brother did. Broke a chair over her back and smashed a basket ball in her face. She was an Irish woman gym teacher. She was out for that season. Like I said our school was no way the worst actually one of the better public schools in Chicago. All I have to say is don’t be a snitch… and thats the culture that the youth follow from the adults. 😮 so yes when this guy walks around South side of Chicago talking this stuff see how long he last in a south side school. Right now lol its not happening that easy. I can praise him for his devotion and hard work. But he needs to be honest with himself and us. I mean the first step to recovery as an alcoholic is recognizing you have a problem. Lol thats just an analogy. Im not here placing blame or pointing my finger. Im speaking facts. Do I believe systemic racism is to blame for this I think so. But the answer is not whats happening now.

Dr.Luke Wood needs to go back to School. The fact that he's teaching this BS to children & young adults is disgusting!!! He's obviously White & Black & instead of embracing both of his ethnicities & showing the world how beautiful all our colors are. That they are really just our unique differences shining through! As a White Mother who Born & raised my own 3 Biracial children. I have always taught them right from wrong, respect to everyone, to treat everyone w/ kindness & compassion & that they can be & do anything w/ hardworking & determination. I have also taught them to never judge a book by it's cover, because it could be an amazing story or a horrible one. To take each person for who they show you who they are not who they tell you. But most of all that they should never have to act or fake who they are for anyone or anything that the true key to happiness & success is being true,& honest w/ themselves & if they have to lie to others than their lying to themselves. They have never been oppressed & I have never oppressed them. & true to the color of my skin, I've never experienced White privilege & can attest that I had to work my butt off for everything I have in life. It's time to stop this Nonsense of white, black, brown, it's obsurd, Martin Luther King said it best I want to live in a World where we are Not judged by the color of our skin but by the contents of our character!!!! It's this Rederick that's hurting America. BTW GOD SAID LETS NOT JUDGE LESS YE BE JUDGE. NO MATTER OUR RACE COLOR OR CREED WE ALL FALL SHORT IN THE GRACE OF GOD & IT'S TIME WE HEAL OURSELVES BY CHOOSING TO SEE EACH OTHER AS HUMAN! TEACHING VALUE TO OUR CHILDREN IS TO TEACH THEM RIGHT & WRONG, & TO LOVE THEMSELVES & OTHERS!

As a Hispanic, I grew up being told I was “inferior” because of my race.... To set myself up for success I did what my teachers asked of me. That was to value education and be a good member of society... I did. I’m now 25, and have a Master’s Degree in Education Administration. I teach elementary.. I’ve learned that it’s not race, but culture that makes a difference.. Blaming race is a cop out. Not all black people are disenfranchised and neither are other minorities. Asians and Indians are doing just fine in our country. There are black people who have found themselves successful in our country as well. Is it because they’re the exception? It’s the culture in which they’ve grown up in.. We all have bias like mentioned in the video, but that’s all shaped by our environment. We all grow up differently. He views illegals as individuals but blacks as a fettered group... Hypocritical?

It’s funny that he brought up Cain and Abel. He says said that from the beginning people want to be better than others etc. And he uses this as one example. However, the story tells us that Abel’s offering to God was approved and that Cain’s offering was not. Cain... in this case kills his brother out of jealousy because of what he has; unwilling to accept the real reason for his own condition. Since the beginning, it has always been easier to blame on others for things that are the responsibility of self.Cain’s personal shortcomings and unwillingness to rise to the standard of righteousness that God asked of them, that was the source of his own unhappiness; the reason why God did not approve of him. Cain, instead of taking personal accountability and stepping up to work hard and perform to the high standard required... chose to deal with his personal problem by killing his perceived rival. God did not have preference toward Abel; nor was there a system in place to keep Cain down that he may not reach God’s approval. Cain, rather than looking into self and making necessary adjustments to his attitude and performance... decided to kill his competition and rob him from his most valued possession; life. This story makes so many cases, but definitely not the young man’s case.

Sin is already at your door.. it desires to have you but you must rule over it.” I totally agree with everything you’re saying. And also, it appears this guy was “taught” the Bible and hasn’t actually read the Word and sought God himself.
