Sean is one of those guys who can break awkward moments by just talking a lot. It’s wonderful. I love how he’s engaging with the King. Beautiful.

You can see why they casted Sean Astin as Sam to begin with. Just seems like a goodhearted lovable guy

Good on Sean for repeating stuff to Bernard since Bernard is apparently hard of hearing now. EDIT: RIP Bernard. You can tell he’s not well here. I hope he is well and whole again in the Halls of Mandos and beyond. 😭💔

I only knew Bernard from his role in Lord of the rings.. you can watch the making of documentary which comes with the extended editions. And in that Bernard seems like a hugely funny and kind man who was always up for a laugh but when it was time for action he had the goods to step into a role like King Theoden and command respect. And even in this short appearance he had me cracking up.. Rest easy friend

RIP Bernard Hill.. Great actor and absolutly fantastic performance in The Lord of the Rings films and Titanic and The Boys from County Clare 🙂

Bernard Hill is so ingrained on my mind as Theoden King that I forget he was also Captain Smith in Titanic which is what he was modestly referring to about Belfast.
