A lot of people dont like basira because she became such a hypocrite and refused to see the similarities between jon and daisy's situations and only defending daisy but constantly faulting jon. Something similar could happen with elias where he could be working with jon but still manipulate jon or others via mind terrorism so people would probably still hate him
