im a auburn fan thanks dsh for putting that video up there's an old book that came out in 2000 called crimson classics it has a cd of the greatest play by play moments in alabama history and eli gold in it highly recommend it its on ebay i know that its a shame they let him go he's a great guy he didnt deserve that he just beat cancer to quote rodney dangerfield no respect they didnt treat eli right and the fanbase has a right to be upset 35 years he was their voice its a shame war eagle!

what a voice, bama legend

I was totally privileged to get to meet Eli this past April 8th at the Florence Conference Center. I just live across the Tennessee River in Muscle Shoals. Well worth the tickets for meet and greet, dinner, talk and Q&A for Shoals Scholar Dollars. I wanted to meet Eli. Got my pictures and autographs but finally got to tell him what I always wanted to, that with or without cable, I have always seen the game better through his Crimson voice better than watching game. Got to hear his truth of what happened. There will NEVER be another great announcer, distinguished, enthusiastic voice as ELI GOLD!!! ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤

Eli you will be missed but not forgotten. Can still hear some of John Forney calling Bama plays in my head. You are just as good or better Roll Tide

John Forney is a Bama legend but Eli surpasses him in every possible way.

I'm old enough to remember Forney and Duncan, I miss them, I also put Eli right there to. Specially when it was him and Stabler. I won't be listening to Bama games on the radio anymore with the TV volume down. Chris Stewart is very good at basketball not so much in football. Him and Watts 🤮🤮 From 1988 until 2024, THANKS for all the GREAT MEMORIES Eli good luck and God Bless you and your family.
