@adrianlackey51079 жыл бұрын
Worth it to see RJD in a greasy pompadour (I laughed and I laughed). Say what you want about the man, he could bring drama to every phrasing he ever did, and this vid is no exception (I just wish the audio were better). I've seen Black Sabbath fronted by this man and Ozzy, and Dio's was the far better show.
@judykay3729
9 жыл бұрын
Adrian Lackey Couldn't agree more on all points. I think that the reason why so many Ozzy sycophants think Ozzy is best (which is laughable!) is because they see him through the whole "prince of darkness" solo career lens. When I first started listening to Sabbath in the 70's, Ozzy was just another "good enough" vocalist in a metal band (THE metal band) with good stage presence and that's it. He wasn't this Metal god todays fans think that he always was until his Yoko Ono made him that way. No one can take Ozzy's contribution as Metal's first vocalist away from him, but first isn't always best. Ronnie took what the mighty Sab sound already had & incorporated more musicianship into it, great lyrics & the most powerful voice in Metal. Thus creating the very best Sabbath ever! Lastly, you are 100% right about the mix on this track. Any so-called engineer who can manage to sub-merge a voice like Dio's beneath the music is someone who needs to find a new line of work or die!
@RedCloud1967
8 жыл бұрын
+Judy Kay Well said....I give ozzy credit where credit is due...however..Ozzy was not Black Sabbath, he was just another cog in an ever turning wheel....as was Ian...however...Dio put some dynamics into the music that really fit Sabbath well...in my opinion...and took the band to places perhaps they only dreamed of.

A more dirty singing.
Great version!! You can almost taste the air in the room!! ✌
Huh to be honest this worlds better than I expected, he can do the strange voice manipulation that Ian can. J.T is my favorite band so of course nothing is better than there's but this is a fantastic cover!
went to see Dio in concert in November....... but the gig was cancelled for obvious reasons. Tomorrow i'm going to see Jethro Tull in concert in Tilburg , the Netherlands. Hope they perform this song!!
this was amazing and definitely the solo was there for me
very well.....................................................................................................................................
Been commenting about DIO material outside of Sabbath and his 80s stuff.. hearing this too as always completely amazing...

this is a SPOT ON cover! f-kin brilliant, if this was cleared up a bit, it would be every bit as good as Tull's original!

Dio Ad Infinitum RIP
uh dude, like 99 percent of dio's songs were about dragons, magic, warlocs, and gremlins... who's the crazy. ps, i say that with the most utmost respect, i fuckin love RJD, me and my boss were rattled the day he passed, we spend a good hour in the office just jammin his tunes.

Gotta miss dio....
thank god ronnie left us lots of music wish the same could be said of randy rhodes
bommmmmmmmmmm
Love Dio but bo one can sing Tull like Ian Anderson. He just has both craziness and innocence at the same time that just works so well with JT's music
Yes it shows his versatility.Excellent rendition overall. Is Ronnie playing base on this?
Its only me...............
Que los dioses te guarden Ronnie
Farewell !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
what this cover appeals is the quality of RJD, but formost the greatness of Barriemore Barlow drumming he was the god of drums, and this drummer can´t by no means deliver the quality Barrimore did with JT
i miss dio bad man. he passed on 1 week exactly after my 43 rd b-day which was on mothers day!!!. what other records did elf release besides the elf lp and carolina cnt ball??anybody know??
In 1957 Ronnie James Dio you was not recognized was in 1957
