My Dad worked on elevators for almost 40 years. He was an elevator constructor. He retired from that five years ago, and now he works as an elevator inspector

Those elevators, you select your desired floor on a central console, and it assigns a floor to an elevator.

If someone is trapped in elevator. Can phase 1 elevator recall bring the elevator down letting the people out

Usually, if someone is stuck in the elevator, the elevator has already locked out and there’s not much you’re gonna be able to do to get it to move

@@justinjordan4733 the only way I know of to get it to move sometimes without having to call a vendor out is sometimes you can go up and reset the elevator, and sometimes it will start moving again,, But do note that if you do shut off and turn back on the elevator, you will lose whatever error codes is generated when it stopped, and the elevator mechanic will not be able to figure out what caused the stop .. Usually we won’t open the elevators anymore if there is an entrapment if the elevator is not sitting at the floor.. Because if that Elivator is halfway between floors and you go to open that Elivator, and for some reason the brakes release,, you can have a messy situation on your hands and possible lawsuits,, So usually now we just call a vendor out and have them come and open the elevator if there is an entrapment . But if the person is in full panic, and it sounds like they may do harm to themselves, then you could reset the elevator to get it to park at the landing somewhere and get the person out .
