Elevated Rail Station! - Transport Fever 2

Ойындар

In this video we raise our station in Santa Clarita and make an elevated connection into Montgomery.
I am using a few mods and assets so my playthrough may differ if you are playing with no mods.
The mods I use are:
More Industry Levels
Natural Town Growth
Fantasia Map Generator
Build with Collision
Better Roads
There are a couple other workshop items I use but they are mainly cosmetic/assets and do not affect gameplay too much.

11:07 some countries prefer to build high-speed rail exclusively on viaducts. I don't. But here it looks interesting.

I was never really sold on the idea until I actually tried it. I think in the high density areas of the city it looks great but it does get challenging to blend in well with the lower density buildings

Can't see the point of point-to-point line between the two cities. Also, a second station was not necessary, as I have explained in the comment to the previous video.

A few videos ago I looked at the destinations tab to confirm demand between Santa Clarita and Montgomery which was a large part of the traffic forming in Montgomery. I set up a bus line between the cities to satisfy the demand but I don't like having only busses serve a high demand route which is why I figured a point to point line via train would be more effective in reducing private transportation between the cities. As for the second station in Montgomery, the city has gown to kind of have an "upper" section and a "lower" section only connected by a four lane road. While there is not much in the "lower" portion of the city yet, it is clear that it will continue to expand in that direction. So I figured instead of having a single underground station closer to the center, I would go with separate stations that serve their own section of the city while still allowing anyone to reach either station through the bus network.

@@ultimatearchitect both are fair points, but why not just amalgamate all lines coming into SC and Montgomery into one? You can actually join both Montgomery stations into one, further enhancing movement of people within the city. I actually believe most of your rail traffic troubles in Jackson stem from having too many lines terminating at Jackson. You therefore have too many trains, you require too many platforms, and significant portion of those people waiting are transfer passengers. You are no longer at a point where maximizing profits is your main point of attention, so why not replace those lines with 1-2 through lines covering most of the map?

I see what you mean. I am a little concerned about the height difference between the two Montgomery stations but if I can figure out a way to connect them, then I think it would make sense to simplify the lines into one larger line

I wanna add one too. It's quite useful with high-speed trains or any trains, for me mainly because I have to delete existing roads or create a bridge or whatever usually, I use sandbox mode though ( I'm currently just figuring things out) to not be stressed out with the money, making tracks mainly elevated are expensive I think 😅.
