Elephant | Tame Impala Guitar & Bass Cover
Музыка
Well, here it is! One of the juggernauts of Lonerism. The tone for this one was a bit tricky I gotta say. On first listen, you may think all it takes is a ton of fuzz but it's way more intricate than that. MVP of this tone goes to the KTG-1 ;)
Gear Used:
Rickenbacker 330 (Modded to '67 335 specs + custom Kevin Parker paint job)
Hofner CT Cavern Bass

Amazing tone, my friend. It's refreshing to see someone else get on here and nail the Tame Impala tones off of Lonerism. The only other person I've seen do that is Sumjor, but has since taken down all of his Tame videos. My request off of this album is going to be Feels Like We Only Go Backwards. It has a really unique take on guitar IMO. I have a MicroKorg, and managed to get about 75-80% of the synth tone down from the song.

Wow man that means a ton! Sumjor was the guy that helped me the most in getting close to the Tame tones. It sucks that he wiped his channel clean of all those great covers and tutorials. As for the FLWOGB tone, that ones tough! I’m assuming Kevin must’ve hooked his guitar into some synth or something? Either that or used the Moogerfooger. I still have to give that one a shot soon, I’ve been spending a lot of time recently trying to get Mind Mischief down, my favorite, so I’m being extra perfectionist with it lol.

@@TameTones Kevin has had a consistent habit of making people guess what instrument he used to make a certain sound. If you want the closest sounding guitar tone he got for FLWOGB, listen to the Modular Session from 2012. He plays it nearly identical to the recording, but louder. I used to be mega obsessed with getting Kevin's Lonerism sound. I got a Rickenbacker 330 back in 2015 (now I have that and a 2020 325c64 lol) and a Vox AC15. This includes a Blues driver, Fuzzface, Holy Grail reverb, a phaser. I never have managed to get a diamond vibrato after all of these years. I'd be happy to show you a demo of my synth pad I crafted when I get the chance! Always a good time sharing the love of Kevin's music with someone.

@@thekinglink906 Nice setup! And yeah i feel you with the diamond vibrato its so expensive. it was one of the last ones i got and i got it before Diamond said they were going to stop making pedals which made the prices even more insane. And thatd be sick if you could share that dude, I feel the same about talking Tame with other peeps 🤙🏼

Sumjor took down his videos because he believes Kevin sold his soul and the music is satanic once he started putting out hand signs.
this tone is amazing! you totally nailed this :D
Quality tone. As a fellow guitarist/pedal enthusiast I can appreciate how long it must have taken for you to dial in certain tones
bro this is insaneeee
Hell yeah!
Thank you so much. I appreciate all your videos. Are you open to a tone tutorial?
What pedals did you use for the guitar? It sounds incredible!!

Appreciate it again man. For this song I basically cranked the Boss Bluesdriver and cranked my KTG Preamp and finally added the MXR dyna comp and Diamond Vibrato! The main beefiness comes from the double tracked guitar which you can tell if you listen with headphones 🤙🏼
All your covers are amazing! Can you play mind mischief?

Thanks a lot man! I’m definitely going to do Mind Mischief soon! That tone is probably my favorite off of Lonerism, along with Endors Toi, so I gotta make sure it’s close to perfect before I record that cover haha.
how do you mute the low d string in between notes throughout the solo? r u using your thumb?

I more-so use my palm. I just apply pressure to the string really lightly to make it fizzle out and not ring out too long.
