Elemental is the Most Technically Challenging Movie Pixar EVER Made
Ойын-сауық
Disney Pixar's Elemental is one of the most technically challenging animated movies they've ever made. While Elemental required more than a hundred thousand computers just to render the final movie, there were also obstacles during production. How do you bring these elements to life as full characters with emotions and movements? Did Pixar pull it off?

Much more challenging than rendering Hank in Finding Dory? Fun Fact: The crew purposefully got rid of one of his tentacles, because the computers wouldn’t render all of them if Hank had all eight (thus writing his seven tentacles into the film’s story).

It is the rendering, the actual animation is dynamic simulations which take FOREVER TO RENDER
Toy Story was released November 22nd 1995, it was on VHS March 1996 after two months in cinemas, and won majority of the 1996 Annie awards over Balto. It took 5 years to create from storyboards of Tin Toy’s Christmas Special, animation of 4-5 years, and a crucial deadline in November of 1993. Monsters Inc/Mknsters & Co took 5 years to animate from 1996-2001, it was fiest pitched in 1994 at a cafe in Burbank which doesn’t exist anymore, was on VHS in February/March 2002, Monster Vs Shrek at the 2002 Annie awards, and lost the Oscar to Shrek in March 2002. Finding Nemo had take 3 years from Y2K-2003, was pitched in 1994 in a cafe in Butbank California(alongside pitches for Monsters Incorporsted, A Bug’s Life, and Wall.E). Now fast forward to 2023 with Elemental which has probably been in production since COVID of 2020 at since time they were working on Soul(2020), Lightyear(2022) Turning Red/Red(2022), coming 9 years after Inside Out is Inside Out 2(2024), Luca(2021), and Elio(2024).

This might be as hard as what they did with The Incredibles.
Rendering is a nightmare, anyone who has tried 3d can tell you that, trying to render all of that would blow up my pc
Pixar has always been innovators in CGI cartoons, Toy Story was the first CGI movie, Monster's Inc made hair mechanics, Finding Nemo did water, and they'd continue to innovate and improve CGI, they aren't the only ones to do so though but Pixar did most of the innovations, Dreamworks made furry animals able to wear clothes in Kung Fu Panda, Disney improved water mechanics to realism with Moana, and now Elemental is the hardest at 150,000 computers because the characters are visual effects, so they have to animate the element characters based on the visual effect element they are and it's their hardest movie to date but they're excited for the challenge as they always push themselves to improve
This must put pixar back in action after all the madness of covid 19 that force them to be in disney+ and their falling comeback with lightyear i hope elemental been as emotional as inside out Coco and soul
In all honesty, as much as it's impressive that they manage to make this movie and 3D, the models just don't feel right to me they feel like they should be 2D or something
This reminds me of that Chowder scene: “Now the animators are gonna have to draw all this FIRE!”
