With the latest Disney films completely stepping away from love stories (a genre they used to dominate in), it was so nice to see Pixar Studios step up and show such an adorable and heartfelt romance.

The last adorable romance movie I remember that Pixar made was WALL-E. Just saying when they dabble in it, Pixar makes some banger love stories.

Ember and Wade being able to touch is actually based on real-life science. It's called the Leidenfrost effect which is when a layer of steam forms between water and a hot surface which acts as an insulator for the water, preventing the rest of it from vapourizing.

Ember didn’t start the pipe problem, when she was making deliveries another building was having water problems. Also my favorite details; the first vivisteria scene has a parent joining in on yelling at Burnie and they had a kid with them, they didn’t know what was going on so they just followed the parents lead and started hating on them too (showing racism is taught). The pipes (at least in my mind) represent the negative biased of water, or anyone really, the more you try to block it away solely from fear the more it builds up. The dad complaining about being watered down had no idea a water guy “watering his daughter down” was helping her temper but the light is still there🤭 And of course the micro aggressions poc go through on the daily I’m pretty sure Ember is Asian representation BUT it’s vague enough for anyone who’s a minority to see themselves in her and her family’s shoes💕💕💕

Yes. It is very clearly Asian representation especially since Peter Sohn the writer wrote this movie for his parents who immigrated from Korea. But I'm black and I see myself in Ember from the temper problem to the struggle of disappointing family, to the fear and hesitation of allowing myself to fall in love with a "water man" (white man), to being an artistic soul who feels like their passion won't amount to anything and they have to put it aside to please the family and for the sake of having a "real job". Ember is me down to the last detail.

This movie is so beautiful. I love that Pixar does more than just fairytale stories.

This is such a better movie than people made it out to be at first!❤

I love how they show you can love someone no matter who they are. Love doesn't have a gender, age, religion etc.

When I really loved about this movie. It tells us why tempers are important sometimes.

I will admit that I came very close to crying while watching this movie but then I remembered steam is just another form of water.😅

There is such a deeper meaning in this movie It was soo good and y'all's reaction was good too and of course it's not a Pixar movie without tears

The writer for this movie kind of based it on his life, and his mom and dads when they moved to New York and opened a few grocery stores and how they had to deal with racism and all the crap America has to offer.

Great movie, great reaction. Very happy I saw this in theaters with my brothers. Seeing this world on the big screen was a whole different level of immersion
