I bought this back about Jan. 2019. I had nothing telling me where to go for video or instructions of any kind but after a little searching on KZread, I found a video that helped get me past a few if'y spots. Over all it was very easy to put together. I did not care much for the software it came with and ordered "T2Laser" program. When that software came I did one little test run and it never failed but sadly it has to be put aside ever since for a few reasons here, nothing to do with it. I am trying to get back to it and would like to upgrade to the 5watt laser for more options on what I can burn. 5 watt is max for the driver from what I read but 2.5 does pretty good for things like you mentioned.

BTW, LASERS of this frequency and amplitude can fry holes in your retina and damage your cornea even via an indirect reflection. Building a containment box is an excellent idea.

This includes viewing the spot on a white wall even at a moderate distance. With 450nm you also have the 'blue light hazard' which folks should familiarize themselves with prior to operating a class 4 in the blue part of the spectrum 🍻

Very clear video. I bought a 500 mW laser for an engraving machine, I had in mind I might do some engraving by hand, but it came without any specifications about the voltage it needed. On another, french video, I found out it needs 12V dc supply. But I couldn't make anything of the French language the guy spoke. I'm from the Netherlands, speak and speak dutch. But I can communicate in English quite well. I'm an engineer in electronics and measure and control technics in chemical and oil industries, I had to fix problems when the factory got down. But it seems to me a 500mW laser is far from enough the do some engraving. I'll try to burn something in papier, a cigarette paper must be possible with this power? thanx for your video, I'm always busy making stuff, no matter what, I will watch your videos with most interest. Thanks again.

  • @MakingStuff

I have bought the same machine some months ago. I was lucky to turn it on after having read many reviews and discussions, and after having seen many videos. If anyone buys this machine thinking it's a normal and safe machine (as it should be), built by clever people (as it should be), PAY ATTENTION!!! Like we can see in this video, too, the first time you connect and turn on the machine, the laser fires at full power, and if you don't know this danger before, you may get blind or burn something unwanted before even starting your first job. It's tragically ridiculous. As for the other features, I stopped using it because it's too slow. Even if the working area is large, it needs at least 4 hours to engrave an only 10x10 cm photo using raster engraving at 150 ppi resolution. So, it's useless that I have an A3 working area but I only can engrave a pencil if I don't wanna grow old while waiting for the process to end. And it's useless to declare that the laser should be used for no more than 30 minutes when a single engraving process needs 30 years.

It should work fine. The laser may go out of focus if the bowl has too much curve to it.

Hello, I don’t know if you ever reply to comments, I’m just looking for a small laser engraver for myself never used anything like this but like to do small wood cutting boards or coasters, personalized keychains etc, from your video this seems to be good, I was deciding between this and the one that looks like a box. If your able to answer I would so appreciate it thanks as to which you fill is best
