+CreamyButta I disagree somewhat. For you purist ..no arguement but there is that cute little back hop/skip is Eleggua, the way she was flaing her arms , more Eleggua.
Breathtaking🙏
beyond beautiful..fantastic
This a feast for my eyes, the way I look at it : it is passionate art that can only be performed from their heart ,body and soul ,I wonder where Kati is from,my husband was an excellent afrocuban dancer ,he was thought by Javier Francis in Bellas Artes school for modern dance in Mexico City ,he will enjoy all of this if he was alive, thank you Kati and Warren ! Awesome performance ! It would be good to see you guys in San Diego in the near future ,God Bless !

Kati Teaches in and around LA. She has a large following in her classes and recitals all over the world. I was told she is an accomplished teacher that hails from Cuba. What I loved most about her was her willingness to share her knowledge of song and dance with everyone she meets, no matter what level you are. I was bought to her class by my Afro-Cuban drum teacher to just observe and learn the songs and how the dance, drums and songs inter-twine It was more than I could ever ask for.
This was not an Elegua dance. It was an Obatala Odudua dance with an Oshun song dance done as Oya. And a Yemoja song thrown in as well. Confusing and misleading. At least change the title of your video to "Orisha" dance interpretation. Oh, and Baba Obatala never dances with his face looking to the ground.

I can't help seeing the future of orishas in them kids. So cute when children participate too.

awww...That makes me sad.
yessss go offff pa paaaaaa
Im starry eyed in love :-) I love to see when woman do African dances (mainly with ochun) spinning/twirling the skirt. Also serious question, is their a more beautiful complexion on this planet than that Brazilian, Cuban or even mixed race sandy brown look?? Mmmm! Lol
Nice! Ashe!
It was a very nice and entertaining INTERPRETATION but definitely not ACCURATE. However, ashe to her for bringing awareness to this beautiful religion.
You all are saying what it isn’t . Enlighten us on the right way then. It’s easy to say what is not right it’s harder to LEAD and show.
ME parese que en este video no estan bailando por elegua! Estan bailando OBBATALA, OCHUN, BABALUAYE ma no elegua! N NO TE CONFUNDA
I hate it when folks get Orisha stuff incorrect. The life of Orisha followers is full of correcting people's lack of knowledge already. Please change the name of this video.
What story is being portrayed behind this type of dancing
Sorry I misspell Duane's name !
Took them away from home, but didn't take the home out of them.

This is not correct. Please respect this beautiful culture and change the title. The first dance is for Obatala with the Baba Fururu song then goes to Oshun then Oya steps within it.
Omg this is not elggua😒
What is the name of this cd or mixtape, how can I find the song? :)
This how dance should be performed, with the audience participating.
ashe!
Ese no es elewa es obatala!!!!
When God (and the santos) asks you for the next dance

Orisha are a mix of Benin , Yoruba and congo and angolan cultures some of the references seem different.

That's sad. Come to Salvador Bahia Brazil we have a lot of Ilè Àṣẹ, some of them with centuries. The Yorubá Culture is alive, is beautiful.
