I should probably order a kit before saying the cost is too low. 😂 90 euros seems very affordable for the kit. I hope you are making something extra for your time. Thanks for putting this together.

I'm really interested in this. I already have a heavily modified Clough42 ELS, which I'm happy with but always keen to experiment. I'm extremely keen to hear about your 2-axis ELS.

I only just found this, and you're done with it after a year? Shame, it was just what I was looking for. 😥 And I'm in the UK not the EU... If anyone in the UK bought one and doesn't plan on using it, I'd be interested for the right price!

Hi Clint, for a tabletop lathe like mine NEMA 23 3Nm is the classic choice.

@@MaximKachurovskiy thanks Maxim, do you still have ELS kits in stock? Just curious why you made a new controller when you already had rocketronics unit? Did you just want to create a lower cost option for people (which is great!) I'm just trying to decide between your kit and the rocketronics unit which is more advanced but a lot more expensive.

@@HermitFab I have plenty of 1-axis in stock and only one of the 4-axis remaining for now. I make them because I like making things 😀 H2 is superior in terms of usability and features for single-axis machines but suffers from using a slow Nano causing "no microstepping" limitation. H4 fixes all that and adds a ton of new hardware features while still being open-source and most importantly programmable by the user. H4 software is still in development though.

What exactly will this do for my lathe that it cannot already do with the change gears? (Grizzly G4000).

Move tool left and right without losing the thread, stop lead screw automatically at given points allowing to cut threads close to the chuck, do multi-start threads, change pitch in seconds to any reasonable value (mm, TPI, inch) with micron precision. Sadly I can't ship within EU for now due to WEEE requirements. In NL for example they require any seller to pay 175 EUR per year - www.take-e-way.com/news/open-foundation-for-weee-in-the-netherlands/ - for small sellers like me it's a killer 💀
