Horse in lane 4 never has a shot

This is by far the coolest thing I've ever seen! I have no ideal what is making this horse racing game work, but find it cool as heck! {other word would have been used} I love it!

they have a slot w 6 horses and you can bet they removed it usually vegas has it and video racing you can bet on old races for money vegas has alot atlantic city no in horse games they dont make enough money

To Danny H, That's a bit harsh considering he was 100/1 before the race.....

What with the outbreak of equine flu and no horse racing,take this to your nearest betting shop! You will have the punters queuing half way down the street!!

That toy is very impressive

It's very safe this game no fences or loose horses etc...

I have this very game. It was purchased many years ago - poss around 12+ - and put up in the attic and forgotten about. Brought it out this year to give it a go but unfortunately it doesn't work. Makes the starting noise but the horses don't do anything. May have made an initial mistake in so far as I unlocked the two little knobs below but - before reading the instructions - turned them to lock again. Perhaps I have done something to stop the magnets moving as the horses don't even attempt to move? Think I'm going to have to take it apart and have a look.

Got any plans to make it from scratch? I'd love to build a bigger one.

Looks like horse 4 needs some WD 40 sprayed on the slats underneath.

Can you change the amount of laps they do?

Incidentally there are 5 'lanes' and 5 horses. Not sure why Mike was only running 4.

HELP . I have something very similar but the problem with mine is that the Horses don't stop when they are suppossed too. Any ideas what could be wrong.

Anyone have pictures of the inside and how the magnets and motors work?

Not true it's just that it runs on batteries I may wire a socket in for a power supply so that it always has full power only with new batteries no 4 often wins.

Where did you get it repaired?

Does the inside horse have a advantage?

How can i unlock at first? I can't understand instructions paper's diagram

My number two horse wants to run two laps before stopping at the starting gate, then the starting gate closes. Then it all functions normally. Any idea why it's doing that..? I have the four horse version.

I fixed it. I figured out how to disassemble this thing, and discovered I had a bad micro switch for lane number 2, (there are eight of them on the four horse version). Also since cleaning the lanes under the playfield that the drive units run on, my horse number four wins about 1/3 of the races. It's working better than when I got it new in the box.

What company is this? When did they make it? Hopefully you see this.

Yes it's completely random a different hourse each time wins.

So, looks like either the #1 or #2 wins every time, 3 and 4, because of their outside lane positions, having no chance at all. Pretty dopey game if you ask me. Cute, though. And the idea has potential, if someone with more vision and imagination updates it, perhaps including more horses and flexibility to change lanes, maybe with the assistance of slightly banked turns so that the horses will tend to move toward the inner rail and thus save ground on the turns. Also track needs to be larger.

4th lane will never win as they will always have the farthest distance. Lane 1 will come in 2, or 1st because of the two turns.

No they were old batteries and the motors underneath were in the wrong order I have now swapped them over and it works fine.

Shouldn't the horse on outside be started ahead
